Sir Keir Stalin has become embroiled in a war of words with Elon Musk, after the tech billionaire suggested that "civil war is inevitable" following violent unrest in the UK.
The owner of X, formerly Twitter, posted the remarks on the platform in response to a video showing people aiming fireworks at police.
The prime minister's spokesperson said there was "no justification" for Mr Musk's comments, adding there was more that social media companies "can and should be doing".
Mr Musk then replied to a post on X from the prime minister - in which Sir Keir said he would not tolerate attacks on mosques or Muslim communities - asking: "Shouldn't you be concerned about attacks on *all* communities?"
Mr Musk also shared a video of a person purportedly being arrested for offensive comments online, asking: "Is this Britain or the Soviet Union?"
He also replied to a post criticising UK policing, suggesting the police's response "does seem one-sided".

All this is a good distraction for the new government as their first major decision was to cut the winter fuel allowance for the elderly.
Labour the party of the people don't make me laugh.
Has to be the shortest honeymoon period for any government in the history of British politics
You'd think the media and the Bolshovic Broadcasting Corporation would be focusing their headlines on the greatest success for Team GB at an Olympics and creating a feel good factor amongst the population instead of repetitively stirring up the Great British melting pot.
Why can't the media and government quell the unrest like they did back in 2017 when the UK suffered its most horrific attack by a Muslim suicide Bomber...
UK: Manchester Arena - Explosion, Fatalities
I had a big walk today and have ended up Iin a pub next to Boundary Park in Oldham.
Probably not the best move I've ever made.
Anyway, noting the police helicopter overhead, the lads and lasses in the pub are checking the windows, a fella at the bar has confirmed kebab shops are still delivering and the bar has just been
fully stocked.
We've got supplies.
#prayforhal.
You could spend days there. Best order some kebabs now in case they can’t deliver later.
Oldham was good for a riot 24 years ago, now that was a proper riot with petrol bombs etc.
They even shut the garages down in the town centre coz all the locals were turning up with milk bottles and a 10pence coin so they could hurl a petrol bomb at the thin blue line.
This was before social media and smart phones, most of the so called rioters nowadays are filming each other in the act of civil disturbance and providing evidence for the authorities at a later date.
So as the kebabs deliveries are unaffected and the beer is flowing, fvck all else matters.
Party!!
Poor scum burning down and smashing up other poor bastards property seems a bit silly, doesn't it ?
I had a delightful mixed kebab from a local Muslim kebab shop last night.
They were unusually overly more friendly than usual.
I had a chat with the old boy and calmed his fears, complimented him on his cuisine but stopped short of putting a pound coin in his counter collection box for Gaza.
£4.50!
I did however put the 50p change in the counter collection box for Bolton Mosque. The old boy was overjoyed.
Still wouldn't trust the fookers around my kids though.
