    And how is Ajarn doing?

Let's take a brief look, shall we?

We've got a "teachers are trapped in a dumf*ck lifestyle as the new lower class" in the staffroom. A bunch of Ajarners nodding sagely at each other over how low they've all sunk. How inspiring.

Additionally, along with another launch of another Thai school watch (this time called teflwatch.org) we have Bangkok Phil chumming it up with a teacher agent shark by the name of Enjoy, *both* of them bashing the need for TSW- on a supposedly pro-teacher board. I think the rumours about BP's new "agency" must be true. In any case, I suppose this means that eventually Ajarn will become the new website for Teaching Agencies in Thailand, which as we teachers know are the lowest of the low. Perhaps TEFLwatch can eventually take over the original functions of Ajarn.

Now, in the Virtual Pub, the most active recent thread is an altered plagiarism of one of mine of TV; we have two troll monikers (Mad Dog and Clint, who is also Americana on TV) run by the same person, who has nothing better to do but continue to troll me on no less than three boards including this one; but the thing is I don't even post on (or frequently read) Ajarn any more- their trolls don't have anything better to do STILL?

As has been the norm over the last 6-8 months there, you can find little information of value about teaching or working in Thailand- just endless rehashing of rubbish, into which LDMA occasionally inserts 1984-ish cheers about how well it's all going.

    Feh.

    "Steven"

If you dont make posting a profession and make it your life I think you are fine. I too was getting caught up in shit. So I decided to take Wally's perspective and post only on positive threads.
    Life has been grand since.

    C'mon Steve...

Surely you're above starting a thread here just to have a backhand swipe, by singling out a handful of threads that aren't to your taste, at a forum on which you no longer post?

    Or maybe not...

Hell...there are half-arsed/half-witted threads on every forum everywhere...

I still like the place, and this place is growing on me (still prefer the technical layout of ajarn;easier on the eyes and to navigate, IMHO)...and I don't really see a difference there.

There have always been trolls and nonsense and pointless discussions.

I think if someone wants genuine teaching info it is there; they may just have to ask...

I must admit that I post on Ajarn quite rarely now, but there's still some good stuff on there. I just prefer it here, that's all.

Well Thai Visa is good for threads about saving bar boys/ bar girls and inspirational "diamond in the muff" stories. Old "Steven" has a great thread about juggling the demands of being a highly dedicated, professional, can do teacher with sterling reputation and entering into meaningful relationships with vulnerable sex workers 3 or four decades his junior... Oh and Stevo I am really not stalking you if you check all the posts that ,I, mad_dog and my good friend americana spent ridiculing you they are well under 30.

    Talking

Well, Torbek, considering that one of the threads I mentioned is altering and plagiarising my *own* thread on TV, by a troll who unfortunately also posts here, I think I do have a certain interest in the matter.

Incidentally, MDTroll, just how long have you been fucking your mother and your 3-month old baby? You were discussing it on Ajarn just the other day.

After reading about a quarter of the posts I realised I was in the 'Gay room'

I don't troll in the Gay zone. You guys can say whatever in your own place.
    No concern of mine.
Bit like the 'sports room' IMO
You only go there if it's your 'thing'

What was that movie with Jack Nicholsen as a psychologist who kept messing with Adam Sandlers head. Go watch that IJWT. It had to do with anger management. Jai yen yen, mate you aint gonna make no headway like that.

AO: point taken, and again a wise one.

However, I thought that as long as MDTroll was going to indulge in obscene fantasies about what I supposedly posted about my romantic life, I would feel free to do the same.

I can sort of see the etiquette thing for trolling- but if there is one, MDTroll has certainly violated it.

I post on various threads here. I came here because it's a good "social" forum. You'll see from my profile I've been here awhile.

I'm posting reg. Ajarn for several reasons (think I mentioned them above). These are "current affairs," so I mention them now.

Is there a reason I shouldn't talk about them?

BTW, AO- I'm not a "professional" poster. I read, write, and type quickly. I have a full time job, several part time jobs, and a large group of friends (meeting two different places tonight). Sorry if it comes across that way. Over on Ajarn I was trying to get them to think about the effects of their poor management; and I didn't "slink" off, I left.

Next time someone accuses you of pedophilia and the mods do nothing, let me know if you slink off or not.

    Lily,

When you are the father of 8 year old twin girls that compete like hell at everything you learn to be a "reasoner" pity I only learned it at the age of 45.

It all really depends upon whether or not you take everything really seriously or not. Obviously a professional poster would have to think long and hard about it. Whereas an amatuer poster would just think that whoever it was, is a **** and ignore it.

So you must be a professional poster.

No reason you shouldn't talk about them. It is just a bit odd that you come and complain about a thread which was plagerised one another forum from one of your threads on yet another forum.

    It's a bit DJ Pat'ish isn't it.

As the Captain once said "we hold a fairly broad chuch here at TD"

If someone wants to discuss another forum...........hmm.......why not?
Run it up the flag pole and see if it flies!
It seems to be creating enough interest at the moment so I guess it's worked.

Sorry, I'm afraid I really don't understand the distinctions you're trying to make re. this "professional poster" stuff.
