I lived in Brickfields in the early 90s. It was mostly four and five floor walk-ups with Indian restaurants and sari and Punjabi suits shops on the ground floor. There were a few high rise condos in the district. The last time I was in Brickfields it was nothing like before. Most of the area is now high-rise condos and office buildings. It is nothing like the funky fun place it was back in the day. Nothing is, so there's that.
pues, estamos aqui
The more he posts, the more I see Scampy. One gets quite nostalgic for the days of him, Moog and Blake.
MM of course is not a female.
^I'll take part of that as a compliment, and yes I am a female, but grew up around males and was a tomboy most of my life. Most of my friends are still male, so perhaps that is what is tricking you.
I reached out to the recruiter last night, and haven't heard back yet, perhaps tonight or tomorrow. Even if I get the job, I'm not sure I can feasibly afford to go. I'll need start up funds, at least three month's of rent up front.
If you are hired they should be paying for your flight to KL.
Malaysia isn’t that hard to get set up. Find an area you want to live in and check for signs that say “Untuk Disewa.” This means for rent. Don’t feel shy about approaching neighbours to ask about the going rent in the neighbourhood and what kind of person the landlord is. You’ll find many people are happy to give you a good ballpark figure and relish the chance to gossip about the landlord.
After five years+ of working in Canada, if you don't have three months rent saved then something's gone wrong.
Being positive you could ask the employer for an advance on wages, it'll indicate how keen they are to hire you.
Good luck don't be bounded from pillar to post and I am sure we all look forward to the adventures of Few Kit Bound Koala Jumper
Flights at a minimum.
Quality accommodation should also be provided on arrival, which can be anything between 2 and 4 weeks, with a further allowance for meals if cooking facilities aren't available on site (e.g. a hotel that only provides breakfast). There might also be some kind of settling-in allowance, but there will definitely be the opportunity to take an advance on salary if needed.
She was never moving to Malaysia.
Help her out Hal, what's the money like in Latvia?
Got your shining armour on this morning, have we?
Eh? Just thought someone in the industry couple help a fellow TD member out.
Thanks, and I am ignoring all the rude comments on this thread, also have Cy on ignore as I don't need negative, rude comments when this isn't a joke to me.
So, I heard back from the recruiter this morning when I got up. He said good news, that the principal had asked for references and all my documentation which I had already sent to the recruiter. He then said I would probably have an offer early next week. And yes, they do pay flights either up front or reimbursement. They also give me two weeks in a five star hotel when I arrive. They have a housing agent that takes me around to pick a place. And they do offer a settling in allowance, which I am not positive but think it is around 1500$ CAD. I also heard, that they may offer a loan as well and take that off my paycheck over six months. So, I'll wait to hear an offer and then ask a lot of questions. I also know that they hire in July as well, so I asked that if I can't go for some reason in Jan. will they be hiring in July as well?
