Early on (2005 ish) I was living and working full time in BKK for a US manufacturing firm in product development and transfers. Lived really well back in those early days here in Thailand. Full boat paid plus a stipend and driver. Later met my now wife and after about 2 or so years of dating and living in BKK and a few other locations, I took a position back in California so she could experience the US and get her GC and Citizenship. That was about a 5 year stint. Once done, we were out of there back here and that was right when our house was finishing up and that's been ~ 7 years now with only a few visits back in the US for work and see my ailing mother.

Wouldn't change a thing and love it here but do wish these silly asshats would stop burning every damn year.

42 months on the current stint, just renewed work permit and extension for 2 more years.

No exits on the horizon anytime soon.

Nice. Well played. Now your wife can start drawing social security spousal benefits on your record at 62.
