    ^it is just water...

I was underwhelmed when I saw the Mannekin Pis in Brussels. I've heard all about it, then when I finally saw it, it was like - that's it? (It's a small statue.) Anyway, all of the tourists were taking pics of it, so I did too...

I agree. The day I was there there was some festival and the little boys "water" was turned off and he was dressed up in clothes.

    Quelle surprise.

A few famous statues are not that interesting in real life.

No, although I think we visited the Sex Museum one year.

To be honest, the main attraction is the tulip gardens in Keukenhof and we pop into Amsterdam for a couple of days during the week. I like to visit the Rijksmuseum and a small Pionola museum while Mrs Troy likes to visit the fashion museum and flower market. We round off the day with a dinner cruise on the canal or have lunch at the wonderful Seafood Bar.

I really enjoyed the architecture whilst cruising around in our little hire boat, one thing thst I remember was all the building were built angled forward towards the canals for loading and unloading in olden days.
The antique market were pretty interesting too.

Off course the cycles everywhere, Amsterdam was cycle friendly thirty years ago, why do all other cities around the world struggle with this?
    Shalom
