How's your AQI reading? Interesting to get local data

Mine is 37 in my Office , nearby monitor in the "fresh air " around 160 daily at present though better this weekend and can just see the hills .

How about you and are you avoiding exercise when it is over the pm 50 level considered safe here?

There is a local app but his zoomable tool is global and seems updated regularly

Nearest reading is about a 10 min walk from my place. I have a good quality filter, my apartment is around 12 inside. I have spent the weekend suffering with a moderately heavy cold, the air quality probably does not make for a speedy recovery.

It’s just weather. We’re coming out of the dry season (winter).

Cracker, no. For the most part they are a mix of Hereford, Black Angus and Brangus.

Man a long needed heavy rain started last night about 1am, carried on to a sprinkle until about 9am. Temp never got over 25 today. According to my weather station at the house we got 12.8mm rain. (~ 1/2 inch). PM 2.5 is 21. Took advantage of the mild weather and raked up all the leaves and ground them up and tossed in mulch pit, cut down a dead mango tree and did a full pool service and filter back wash.

Hopefully the heavy rain put out some of the forest fires.

    It’s early. Reading is 6

Later today I’m going to check on the Bald Eagles to make sure they’re alright. Could reach 8 again and they might be gasping for air.

The bald eagle must be enjoying the beautiful weather, but it was playing hard to get. The one of four pictured below would not stay in its nest (upper right-hand corner). We used to have 11.

    Air pollution

Air pollution is contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by any chemical, physical or biological agent that modifies the natural characteristics of the atmosphere.

Household combustion devices, motor vehicles, industrial facilities and forest fires are common sources of air pollution. Pollutants of major public health concern include particulate matter, carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Outdoor and indoor air pollution cause respiratory and other diseases and are important sources of morbidity and mortality.

WHO data show that almost all of the global population (99%) breathe air that exceeds WHO guideline limits and contains high levels of pollutants, with low- and middle-income countries suffering from the highest exposures.

Air quality is closely linked to the earth’s climate and ecosystems globally. Many of the drivers of air pollution (i.e. combustion of fossil fuels) are also sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Policies to reduce air pollution, therefore, offer a win-win strategy for both climate and health, lowering the burden of disease attributable to air pollution, as well as contributing to the near- and long-term mitigation of climate change.

From smog hanging over cities to smoke inside the home, air pollution poses a major threat to health and climate.

Ambient (outdoor) air pollution in both cities and rural areas is causing fine particulate matter which result in strokes, heart diseases, lung cancer, acute and chronic respiratory diseases.

Additionally, around 2.4 billion people are exposed to dangerous levels of household air pollution, while using polluting open fires or simple stoves for cooking fuelled by kerosene, biomass (wood, animal dung and crop waste) and coal.

The combined effects of ambient air pollution and household air pollution is associated with 7 million premature deaths annually.

pollution still causes more than 9 million deaths each year globally

After the rain coukd easily see Lao hills for a few days, smog returning 11 inside with purifier on over 100 am and up to 148 recently, Cannot smell or see the burning, so I think it is drifting over from the Lao rice valleys and mushroom hunters who cannot be impossible to catch (they park in forests , clamp 'em and make illegal to sell?

Almost impossible to stop Hill Tribes consuming as Thai cops loathe to hike through the forest too far from nongs, aircon and sanuker halls? Army oh forgot they are to protect the unelected deal drugs and run the casinos.

Cops cannot wring enough $$$ of hill farmers who squat on government land whose entire possessions is a Muttpack, a firearm a radio and a ragged outfit, of course if access to opium they can always get cash for second hand phone which is of little use apart from music in the hills, its like Donegal without the endless rain, Dutch tourists and endless Daniel O'Donnel diddly dee
