What are you using ChatGPT for?

I find this AI thing pretty interesting, the fact that it is still in its relative infancy all the more so. Big things to come in 10 years time with AI I think. I used it to suggest a plan for my sabbatical, thought is was pretty neat and works well as a rough guide at this stage. Here is what it kicked out:

    Month 1: Northern India

    • Start in Delhi and spend a few days exploring the city, including a visit to the Red Fort and Qutub Minar.
    • Take a train to Rishikesh and spend a few days there, hiking in the nearby mountains and trying out the local yoga classes.
    • Head to Manali and spend a week hiking in the beautiful Himalayan mountains. Don't miss the Rohtang Pass and the Solang Valley.
    • Take a train to Amritsar and try out some delicious Punjabi food, including chole bhature and sarson ka saag.
    • Visit the Golden Temple, a beautiful and sacred Sikh temple.

    Month 2: Western India

    • Take a train to Mumbai and spend a few days exploring the city, including a visit to the Gateway of India and the Elephanta Caves.
    • Head to Goa and spend a week relaxing on the beaches and trying out some delicious Goan cuisine, including vindaloo and fish curry.
    • Visit the Dudhsagar Falls and take a trek to the waterfall.
    • Take a train to Ahmedabad and visit the Sabarmati Ashram, the former home of Mahatma Gandhi.
    • Try out some delicious Gujarati food, including dhokla and thepla.

    Month 3: Southern India

    • Take a train to Chennai and spend a few days exploring the city, including a visit to the Marina Beach and the Kapaleeswarar Temple.
    • Head to the hill station of Ooty and spend a week hiking in the Nilgiri mountains.
    • Take a train to Kerala and spend a few days in Kochi, exploring the beautiful backwaters and trying out some delicious Kerala cuisine, including appam and stew.
    • Head to Varkala and spend a week relaxing on the beaches and trying out some delicious seafood.

    Month 4: Eastern India

    • Take a train to Kolkata and spend a few days exploring the city, including a visit to the Victoria Memorial and the Howrah Bridge.
    • Head to Darjeeling and spend a week hiking in the Himalayan mountains and trying out some delicious momos.
    • Take a train to Puri and spend a few days relaxing on the beaches and visiting the Jagannath Temple.
    • Head to Bhubaneswar and visit the famous Lingaraj Temple.
    • Try out some delicious Odia cuisine, including dalma and chhena poda.

This is just a rough plan and can be modified to suit your preferences and interests. Do make sure to research the places you plan to visit and stay safe during your travels. Enjoy your trip to India!

The budget for a 4-month trip to India can vary depending on the type of accommodation, transportation, food, and activities you choose. However, here's a rough estimate of the budget you might need for this trip:
    Accommodation:

    • Budget hotels and guesthouses can cost anywhere between $10 to $20 per night.
    • Mid-range hotels can cost between $30 to $60 per night.

    Transportation:

    • Train travel is relatively cheap in India. You can expect to pay between $5 to $30 for a train ticket, depending on the distance and class of travel.
    • Local transportation such as buses and rickshaws can cost between $0.20 to $5 depending on the distance.

    Food:

    • Street food and local restaurants are very affordable in India. You can expect to pay between $1 to $5 for a meal.
    • Mid-range restaurants can cost between $5 to $15 per meal.

    Activities:

    • Hiking in the mountains and visiting temples are usually free or have a small entrance fee.
    • Other activities such as water sports, wildlife safaris, and cultural tours can cost anywhere between $20 to $100 per activity.

Overall, a budget of around $3,000 to $5,000 should be sufficient for this trip. This is just an estimate and can vary depending on your travel style and preferences.

Having never been to India other than an airport transfer here and there, I would not know if this was a accurate figure.

^the vlogger Gabriel Traveler has just travelled through parts of NE India (Darjeeling, Sikkim & some small towns). He's now relaxing at a beach in Goa and taking a break from social media. I think he deserves it, since he's been posting vids almost everyday - it was nice to follow his travels in real time.

^nice itinerary. If you go to NE India, you'll see that the people look a bit different - they look more similar to SE Asians than the usual "Bollywood Indian" look (those actors are usually from N India - Delhi & surrounds) . From some interviews that I've seen, some NE Indians are discriminated because of their looks and are called Chinese by their fellow Indians. South Indians (from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, etc) are generally darker. I once had a bus-mate, a lady from Manipur (a NE Indian state) - we had interesting convos during that long bus ride.

I want to visit India in the future. I want to see the Taj Mahal, the Pink (or rose?) temple, the Golden Temple of the Sikhs, etc. Maybe have a camel ride in Rajasthan too.

The vlogger couple "Jumping Places" have good vids in India. They did the camel ride & desert camping in Rajasthan. The girl (Carol) was physically harassed when they were in Delhi, and her husband was close by! Aside from that incident, they enjoyed their India trip.

Re: ChatGPT, I haven't used it yet. Will probably do so in future, if I don't have time to do the research (usually for travelling).

My youngest just typed in a question and it gave him a comprehensive 200 words answer to his question.
    Homework done!

I did suggest replacing a few words and commas, Ciz might have future employment at this rate.!

I got it it to write a generic response to schools that expect me to break my current contract to come and work for them. Basically, I am not going to take time out of my day to reply to such a unprofessional request. Here's what it gave me:

    "

Thank you for reaching out to me about potential employment opportunities at your school. I am honored that you have considered me as a candidate for a teaching position.
However, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to break my current contract to join your school. As a professional educator, I take my commitments very seriously, and I am dedicated to fulfilling my obligations to my current employer.

I understand that this may not be the answer you were hoping for, but I hope you can appreciate my position. It is important to me to maintain a reputation for professionalism and integrity in my career, and I do not believe it would be appropriate to break my current contract.

I wish you all the best in your search for a qualified candidate and hope that you will understand and respect my decision.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
    Sincerely,

I suppose it's only to be expected that you of all people would teach your children that cheating is acceptable.

It can also churn out absurd stories:

Big Bird, the beloved character from Sesame Street, had always been a fan of fried chicken. So, when he decided to open his own franchise, he knew exactly what to call it: Big Bird's KFC - or as he liked to call it, "Killer Fried Chicken".
The restaurant was a hit, with lines wrapping around the block. Big Bird was thrilled with his success, but things took a dark turn when customers began to notice that the chicken tasted a little...different.
One particularly observant customer asked Big Bird about the secret ingredient in his recipe. "Oh, it's nothing special," Big Bird said with a sly grin. "Just a little bit of bird seed."
As rumors began to spread about the true nature of Big Bird's chicken, protesters gathered outside the restaurant, holding signs that read "Big Bird is a cannibal!" and "Save the chickens!"

But Big Bird refused to back down, insisting that his customers loved the taste of his "special" chicken.
In the end, Big Bird's KFC was shut down by health inspectors, who found evidence of unsanitary practices and questionable ingredients. But Big Bird didn't let it get him down. He simply opened a new restaurant called "Big Bird's Roadkill Grill" and continued to serve up his unique brand of culinary creations.
And to this day, Big Bird is still hailed as the king of dark humor - and chicken.

As a parent I hope this is a joke. Especially when you allow them to plagiarize their homework.

I remember when they thought the use of calculators in exams was cheating.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I asked ChatGPT to create a simple SAS program that I needed to write today.
It did a shit job and I had to rewrite it from scratch.

I'd be very careful if there are any facts in the answer as it just makes things up if it doesn't know. I asked it to write a blog post about a certain topic, which it did and it looked fantastically well researched. Unfortunately it was littered with complete fabrications.

This afternoon I was doing Wordle and wondered if ChatGPT could help me.

When I play now, I always start with 2 words: AROSE & UNITY
This will reveal all vowels in use + Y.
Also some of the most common consonants.

Anyway, I was wondering if there was 3 five letter words witch would reveal a few more consonants.

My Verdict is that ChatGPT is crap at Wordle:

    Below is my conversation:
ME: Give me 3 five letter words that use 15 different letters.

CHATGPT: Here are three five-letter words that use 15 different letters:

    Quirk - Q, U, I, R, K
    Glimp - G, L, I, M, P
    Juicy - J, U, I, C, Y
Did it not understand the question? "I" is used 3 times and "U" is used twice.
    So we'll try again...

ME: Are there 15 different letters that can be used to make 3 words with 5 letters each.

ChatGPT: Yes, it is possible to use 15 different letters to make 3 words with 5 letters each. Here is an example:

    Shale - S, H, A, L, E
    Tonic - T, O, N, I, C
    Gravy - G, R, A, V, Y

As you can see, these three words each use five different letters, and together they use a total of 15 different letters.
    2 "A"s..... no "U"

    And so the conversation goes...

ME: But you used the letter A twice

CHATGPT: I apologize for my mistake. Here's another example using 15 different letters with each letter being used exactly once to form three five-letter words:

    Twirl - T, W, I, R, L
    Quack - Q, U, A, C, K
    Vixen - V, I, X, E, N
As you can see, each of these three words is five letters long, and they use a total of 15 different letters with no repetition of any letter across the three words.

ME: Now you used the letter I twice

ChatGPT: I apologize for the mistake again. Here's another example of three five-letter words using 15 different letters without any repetition of any letter across the three words:

    Fable - F, A, B, L, E
    Hiker - H, I, K, E, R
    Jumps - J, U, M, P, S
These three words use 15 different letters, with each letter being used exactly once across all three words.

ME: Now you used E twice

ChatGPT: I apologize for the mistake again. Here's another example of three five-letter words using 15 different letters without any repetition of any letter across the three words:

    Gauze - G, A, U, Z, E
    Jolly - J, O, L, Y, R
    Quilt - Q, U, I, L, T
These three words use 15 different letters, with each letter being used exactly once across all three words.

Failed again. Lets try a different approach

    ME: Use the letters A R O S E U N I T Y and 5 other unique letters to create 3 words of 5 letters

ChatGPT: Here are three five-letter words that can be created using the letters A R O S E U N I T Y and five other unique letters:

    Saturn - S, A, T, U, R, N
    Unite - U, N, I, T, E
    Rayon - R, A, Y, O, N
Each of these words uses only one of the five additional unique letters, and all of the letters used in these words are among the provided letters.

ME: But Saturn contains 6 letters

ChatGPT: I apologize for the mistake in my previous response. Here's another attempt:

    Astir - A, S, T, I, R
    Unary - U, N, A, R, Y
    Store - S, T, O, R, E
Each of these words is five letters long and contains only letters from the given set "A R O S E U N I T Y" along with five additional unique letters used exactly once across all three words.
    "A" "S" "T" & "R" are all used twice.... I give up.

^^^ now imagine if you had to pay for each time that you sent a message to ChatGPT. You would have used a fair amount of money

This is exactly the reasoning behind the AI SMS Chat application 'NataChata' that I wrote around the year 2000, for 'sexy chat' and charging the end-user a quid for each message.

Customer:"Hi sexy, how are you today?"
NataChata: "Fcuk off you inadequate twat! I only want to chat with REAL men"
Customer: "WTF, you saying that I'm not a real man?"
NataChata: Yes, and I bet your willy is tiny as well"
    Customer: You fcuking...........

... and so on and so on.....

    I made lots of money

ME: You are not very good at this, are you?

ChatGPT: I apologize for my mistakes and any inconvenience caused. As an AI language model, I strive to provide accurate and helpful responses to the best of my ability. However, I am not perfect and sometimes I may make errors. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to assist you.

Katie I know your switched on and independent but as a lady don't go to India on your own, it's a different ballgame on the subcontinent.. ya gotta sleep with one eye open.seriously. India's hard work. Not a place to relax at all. Yes,it's interesting and fascinating, but single woman travelling is alien to them.
