    I remember Tandy catalogues.

Also Argos and Index, both catalogue shops. Perfect for birthdays and gifts in general.

    Who watched The Visionaries?

Try this if you can Gareth Edwards sans pareil, the complete rugby player at his peak .
An era of Barry John too probably the finest N hemisphere team I ever saw live.
Springboks, All Blacks and Barbars also had great teams. So much fun and far less commercial?

Phil Bennet was pretty handy too

Smoking was still considered social when I was young. Teachers were not allowed to smoke in class but they didn't make any effort to hide they smoked. History teacher smoked Kensitas, chemistry teacher smoked Embassy and the school secretary Piccadillly or Senior Service. One of the teachers smoked Woodbine but can't recall which one now. My grandfather smoked Capstan full strength. The kids were smoking No6 or No10 in those days.

A friend lived in a flat in Westgate Street which had a view of Cardiff Arms Park. While the rest of the Welsh team trained together, he was on his own walking up and down the touchline. On his hands. Enormous upper body strength which helped him get through tackles.

^ for some bizarre reason a couple of months ago I checked out How the TV programme which used to 'star' Jack Hargreaves back in the 70s

Every week my mother would complain about his dirty fingernails.
It was a good programme for kids at the time.

    Here's a clip
