This one brought back some memories from the 1960's. Getting free wafers from the ice cream van and the F.A.B. lolly, which my sister and I always associated with Thunderbirds...

...and if we were really good we got a 99...

Come to think of it, I can only remember my sister being good enough to get one...
Today my wife has around 20 loyalty cards from Watsons to Makro Boots you name it, I still have some airline ones, back in the day cigs and supermarkets used paper tokens or stamps to hook you into a brand.
I recall an era when Tesco UK offered double stamps some midweek low traffic days then rivals did 3x then another 4x .
Celebrities like Hughie Green would open stores cuttingribbns with teh inane publicity grins similar to Thai pointing Police after a yabba bust
The tokens were pennies but if you licked the books after 3 years a Toaster seemed to be the "PRIZE" the gift books like could be pored over like Argos Tandy or SEARS and made good door stops as as heavy as Yellow pages.
I didn't collect but odd stamps were saved behind teh Mantel Clock aunts grannies . To get a boke from Kensitas you'd probably need to smoke enough to get cancer!!!

^^I would go to my grandma’s house on the weekends and she would have me put her S&H Green stamps into the saver books. I was so happy to get that chore.
In 60s teenagers did not have tvs in bedrooms which were usually unheated so week nights it was TV round teh fire in the living room in most homes, Dads might be at clubs pubs so mums aunties tuned in to soaps , quizzes or dreadful Terry and June type so called comedies
Richard Chamberlain and George Chakaris seem to excite teh Ladies .Monica Rise and Lulu twitched the pencils
I avoided being dregged to teh endless runs of teh Sound of Music but mums pal took me to The Great Escape on a huge screen in Technicolour , I've been on the run ever since
