^I would bring/ wear Shiva & Vishnu bracelets/ amulets too, but then I remembered that it's against my religion. (thou shall not have other gods)

This Friday/ weekend is looking like it will be sunny. The weekend prior to my hike was also sunny. My friends and I had the bad luck to hike on a wet & stormy weekend. If it had been a sunny weekend during my hike, I would probably have pics similar to that ^^ at the summit of Mt Irid, the leechy mountain.

Thou shalt have no other God before me. You must not make any idols, I assume that means wearing them too. Best not anger the boss.

Don't get me wrong Katie, I fully understand the reasoning and the advantages of the sandals for such a hike and I respect your bravery.

The very thought of hiking is sandals absolutely terrifies me. The amount of snakes, scorpions, centipedes etc that I've encountered on hash runs...

    ...no chance!

I could have gone viral on tik-tok if someone had filmed my 'showered-in-red-ants dance' while cutting back my pomelo tree this morning.

Your socks have funky individual toe-fingers Katie!

They should be proudly on display in sandals, not hidden away inside hiking shoes. Don't listen to Dirk!

    This shits me.

I had the great good fortune to, by chance, feel a leech on my back while I was working before he really got stuck in. I brushed him vigorously and he dropped off which was handy. I looked on the ground and could not see him so I thought he might still be on me.

Went inside stripped off to check my body in the mirror. Nothing.

But I did not take my boots off and the coont had landed on my boot and silently made his way to my ankle like a squidgy ninja and feasted on me for half an hour before I felt him again.

He got salted purely out of revenge since he had already dropped off sated. I was letting my vengeful side out like in Ezekiel 25:17

But that still leaves me with a super-itchy leech-bite for 2 days, coont.

Your hashing in the wrong spot dirk? Try subic or Angeles. They just run between bars. Done my down downs in subic . Sat on the block of ice

2 leeches latched on in half an hour. This is a biblical plague of vampire blood suckers and my gold crucifix is letting me down.

    Bloody Backdoor Bandit-20241113_202100-jpg

Salt gets them to let go and kills them in 30 seconds.

This is the evilest leech yet. It is a cunning leech. I was working in the garden when I felt an itch inside my boot, down at my little toe. I did not do anything as it is a hassle to get my boot and sock off and on. When I eventually gave in I found a leech inside my sock in between my pinkie and 4th toe. That is him in the pile of salt on the driveway.

    Bloody Backdoor Bandit-20241115_194736-jpg

He could not have got down there with my boot on so he must have lain in wait overnight in my sock and then bit me after I put it on. Who would have thought a leech could be so cunning.

Once the drama of my power cable rescue was over I became curious about the itching inside my boot.

It turned out to be a feckin blood suckin leech

I did not have salt on me so he got the jet-lighter treatment

He behaved very strangely when I subjected hm to the blue hot 1200c bunsen flame

Instead of panicking and scarpering away from it he stretched his pointy head end up directly into the oncoming flame and stayed in that position until he had become a carbon statue.

    Bloody Backdoor Bandit-vlcsnap-2025-01-11-06h29m49s616-jpg

Almost like he was eager to climb up to his next karmic incarnation having done his leech time.

Maybe I will come back as a leech one day in the far future
