Advice on an immigration problem please

I think this story is fishy as shit, but help please.

Pakistani boyfriend of Sister in law.

Apparently come to Malaysia to visit. Even though she left here two weeks ago.

Detained at airport even though he had a visa for Malaysia (apparently).

    Deported.

To Colombo, Sri Lanka... Dunno why or how.

From Sri Lanka flew to Jakarta, Indonesia to visit SIL.

Now detained in Indonesia because his passport said he was deported from Malaysia.

He also has visa for Indonesia (apparently).

He wants her help now to get out of detention in Indonesia...

Is this story bullshit or possible?

Why is the operative question here. Until we know that, what else can be said?

I have no idea and told her that. She wants to rush to the airport and help him; I told her not to get involved or get identified as his partner in what ever shady deal he is up to.

I don't think you can get deported to a different country to your origin

I have a friend here in Khon Kaen who is Pakistani and is a great guy, I met him at Thai language school. He is a scientist on assignment here working on the Mekong Project at KKU.

The story about your SIL's Bf sounds like a lot of BS to me. I am sure there is more to this story.
Why would Indonesia arrest him for having been deported from Malaysia? Two different countries.
Let us know how it works out.

@willy - sounds like BS to me as well. Why would they deport him to Sri Lanka & not to Pakistan? Unless he's a resident/ works in Sri Lanka?

IMO, he might be a "love scammer". They're usually from Nigeria, but maybe there's a group in Pakistan too? I know that there are many scam call centers in India... There's this UK guy on YT who exposes them. I think it's Jim Browning(?).

Edit: The situation reminded me of this docu.

Sounds suss to me. If he was denied entry to Malaysia, even with a visa, he would be returned to country of origin.

More context. He visited Indonesia once before to marry he but his parents didn't allow it. Apparently he wants to try again.

He says he was deported via Sri Lanka because it was a Sri Lankan flight but he says the officer in Sri Lanka was nice and said "pity you missed the holiday in Malaysia but at least you can have a holiday in Indonesia instead and allowed him to fly on"...

it could very well be true - sent back on the same airline/flight that brought him

but apart from that - sounds like a scammer anyway - so fcuking leave him to his fate

and anyway , as you are a muslim , just marry the SIL and that will solve that problem

I was refused entry to Australia and was deported once. A tragic tale of stupidity/ignorance on my part.

What you have to show is a ticket to your country of origin. I had a return ticket to the US, however I had a layover in KL on my way out. The Ozzie GF flew to KL and her and I went to the Australian Embassy to talk with them about my situation. A couple of days later I was back in Oz, with the situation sorted.

It's pretty cool walking through an airport handcuffed and shackled, you tend to catch everyone's eye.

He must have done something really stupid like thinking to stay permanently with the GF while on a tourist visa...and was dumb enough to tell immi that. Not that I've ever done that.... *cough*

He is one of many scam baiters but probably the most famous. I like to watch Kitboga's channel also who tears the Indian scammers to pieces.

Is he an airline pilot? Does he need money to pay the duty on all the expensive gifts he's got for her?

To be fair last trip he gave me (via the family) a long sleeved Pakistan cricket shirt because he heard I like cricket.

I haven't heard any updates but we've all warned the SIL not to be dumb.

Interestingly enough she wanted to go to the airport to help but he dissuaded her...makes me wonder if he was even in Jakarta and how much money he might need for 'immigration fines'...

^I still think that he's a love scammer, and that sooner or later he will ask for money to pay fines/ bribes/ flight tickets, etc.

Some months ago, I saw a clip on PH news about an older lady (60+ years old). She was waiting (in vain) for her online BF to arrive at the airport. She had previously sent money several times. She had the photo of an elderly Caucasian man. The news reporter had to gently tell her that she had been scammed. Poor lady.

These love scammers are targeting women of all ages & nationalities, not just Western women - though usually the latter have more money to spare - just like the one in the 60 Minutes Australia docu.

^agree, Mr. Norts. Lots of female love scammers in PH, TH & other countries.

The difference is (from what I've seen in reports), is that female love scammers use their own pics - they will usually send sexy pics of themselves. While the male scammers (the Nigerian scam groups) use pics of Caucasian men, usually those available from stock photos.
