Hendrix and the Corrs also did wonderful versions but this is wonderful tonight
A great album in the days of returning from big late nights out in Camden then to a house party
No relation to Beck ? (song dedicated to Willy)
There were so many great British guitarists at that time and Clapton, Beck, Marriot, Ronson, Wood and others were producing better sounds and material then what the Americans, including Hendrix, were doing.
They were all of an era when new ground was being broken and it was sufficiently new to be able to come up with original stuff - not so easy nowadays.
We know as a Man Utd victim you have a taste handicap, but really...........
A stroll along many UK high streets last summer I saw
Indian Curry
Italian Pizza
Turkish Kebab
American Burger Joints
Kentucky Chicken
Thai Cuisine
Mong Gregg's eaters
In more cosmo Camden also Vietnamese, Polish Mexican and Scandi cuisine
It is inceasingly hard to find teh really great Kipper, Smokies, Cullen Skink John Dory Megrim or Dover Sole
I think your comment is out of PLAICE
Jeff at his best
I think I still have this on my iPod
Ah yes a homage to Gil Scot-Heron's classic
A great guitarist, no question. But what did he create, compared to say-
Hendrix
Page
Tony Iommi
Peter Townsend
Ritchie Blackmore
Mark Knopfler
Even the Davies 'Kinks' brothers
Hi Ho silver lining, that Bolero thing, some virtuoso stuff and great cover versions (eg Little Wing). Some say he didn't manage his career well, others think he was a bit lazy- he did fine as an in demand session musician, much like Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones did. But that was all he was seemingly content to do.
Kinda the UK version of Stevie Ray Vaughan (he did a great cover of Little Wing too). But Hendrix created it. Neither will be remembered up there with Hendrix et al, they just don't have the iconic hits, or sound, or sales. Beck could play anything well- his talent is unquestioned.
RIP.

^ he's labelled as the guitarists guitarist, perhaps he was just happy doing his thing.
