The Daddies Sauce looks like 13/04/2023.

It's a long time since I bought sauce within the Sell by Date. You guys certainly get spoiled down in Pattaya. I think they must send stock up to Korat once it's out of date.

HW, can you remember how much the HP Sauce was?

Sorry mate I can't recall and should have taken a landscape pic to show more of what's in the aisle just to really piss you off . I go there about once every week or two and will get a pic with prices showing next time.

Yes, we are spoiled in Pattaya with Siamburi's, Siam Expats, The Corner Store among many other related convenience outlets within a short driving distance.

Not that I go there often but nice to have if you need a fix.

Add in all the major supermarkets and restaurants and local markets and is there anywhere else in Thailand where people can so easily drive to and find anything related to food?

I buy what would probably be called staples mostly at Siamburi's because they're rarely out of stock of anything, and they have the best prices. Yesterday was things like cream cheese, bacon, bread rolls, beetroot, Robinson's cordial, butter, and shaving cream. That business must be a gold mine, they're always busy unlike the other Expat shops where you're very likely to be the only one in the shop.

I find the one on Soi Siam OK- especially watch out for their Specials (Use By stuff, basically). Anyway, it's not far from my place when I'm over there- so I tend to favour it for the convenience.
Holland Tulip just up Soi Siam tends to be my source for bread, although Pum Pui- near enough diagonally opposite- does nice bakery too, if a wee bit pricey. Nice restaurant too.

^La Cremerie is the latest bakery/restaurant over that way, it's at the old Aroi restaurant location if you didn't know. It's very good too but bakeries are like everything else here, with so much competition if they're not good and reasonably priced their life expectancy is short!

Siamburi's is the only place I know selling some bakeries individually packaged Italian rolls that are just perfect and stay fresh for a few days, 15 Baht a throw though . I'll put a pic of my breakfast sausage-cheese-egg brekkie roll up after making it later.

Here you go Mendip, and a few others random pics that you might be able to make prices out on too. I went to get a few different cheeses and wasn't disappointed, best place in town with the best prices for that. Didn't buy any beans, left them for the guys who can't live without them

    Thanks HW... I think.

So, Daddies Sauce is cheaper than HP Sauce... maybe I am a tightwad after all!

I don't see much evidence of this baked bean famine that people talk about?

To be honest almost all of that selection is now available in Korat Chef up here in Korat and the prices ain't bad at all. You have a better choice of cheese but so long as I can get a strong Cheddar I'm happy enough. I've gotta watch my cholesterol and all that.

Rusty tins on the bottom shelf? Are you expecting a visit from Chitty?

It was and just reconfirmed. So tight in fact you couldn't run a credit card through the crack of his ass Tight wad...

Of the pics HW posted at the store, I'd only take Green Olives for Martini's and Lea Perrin Worcester sauce for Bloody Mary's. The rest can expire and Chitty can pick it up for low cost albeit I don't think Spam ever expires like a Hostess Twinky. So processed, they can't.

Have never tried Daddies, but get 1 to 2 years out of a small bottle of HP using a few drops on fried eggs occasionally. Worth buying a bottle, or is it pretty much the same thing?

Not pictured is the huge range of things like sausages and bacon and ham and fish and chocolates and whatnot, there'd be about 6 of those triple door fridges and freezers (like the cheese display) full of items plus another 5 or 6 chest freezers with glass tops in there. Said before, that place is in the middle of nowhere and is always busy unlike a lot of similar places in far better locations.

I much prefer Daddies. It's spicier and not so fruity as HP. Once you Daddies you'll never go back.

It looks well stocked. I will be in BKK in a few weeks for 2 days, then CB for 3, then Rayong for 2 then back to BKK to visit a potential opportunity to move a product from China to Thailand.

Will be stocking up on things on my tour.

Got a good deal on a nice beach villa purchase, and pulled the trigger. Kitchen renovation makes a man hungry.

I'm working through the Lady Pies first.

I'll give a review of the Yorkies next week if I'm not blind.

^I know SFA about the intricacies of pastries but the pic shows the difference between the only sort of meat pie pastry we could get at one time versus what every decent meat pie uses these days. The Yorkies style pastry is dense and not flaky, the Lady Pie is much more enjoyable.

^ 20 years ago Yorkies was the only pie option in Pattaya and now there are too many to mention.

My wife is doing really well with her product and the feedback regarding quality, pastry and taste is very positive.
