TD Plan B : Is there life after TD?

Is there life after TD? Norton explained there are some technical issues.

With keyholder gone is there a Plan B?

I recall some discussion last year .

It would be good to know before we encounter the screen of death.

It would be awful to end up on joyless Thaigeeza, TC etc having to work out all the players again.

If someone has the tech skills to overcome I am sure members could all chip in $10 etc should a new site/ bulletinboard or whatever the correct term is?

Any suggestions from the whitest falang in the village people.

With this base of clientele, some whore ads is all you'd need to keep it cash flow positive.

I was thinking more about somehow transferring the database or re-assigning domain so a new admin/ owner can have the keys.

It would be sad if all our posts photos travel and construction stuff was buried deeper.

A functioning search button would be good.

There is a goldmine of incredibly great stuff on TD and it would be a shame to lose it.
If there is a way to transfer ownership of the url TD could be kept running.
Another way I believe would be to start a new forum and move TD content to it.
Far from expert on this but we have a couple members who could sort it.

Yes, he kept very tight control on admin functions. Even DD didn't have keys.

I don't post much these days but would like to see Teakdoor continue into the future.

If something can be sorted between a few knowledgeable members I would be happy to contribute my share.

...so, the new owner is deadweight, happily collecting Smooci rent but unwilling to reinvest in our obvious need for posting bliss...

Odd situation. I agree in my 10+ years being a member I have seen a lot of good house builds and farming information shared. Would be sad to see it go.

But forums come and go. Saw a few outstanding off road US sites take a dive with some really good info. But we all find new sites to gather and share info. That other site TV Is not an enjoyable site. It's a bunch of bickering schmucks who spend all day trying to get smiley faces and likes. Been by it a few times as the only valuable section is the Visa/Immigration. Rest is garbage nonsense IMHO. But in fairness TV is an operated business to make money so strict mod rules apply to keep it clean.....and boring.

Would be quite a shame, even tragic, to lose TD archives.....the dog-eared collection that haven't already been mismanaged, deleted and mangled.
Appears to be, as it stands today, that the current mystery admin/owner is hesitant to allow the old veterans run the show - access to the assorted passwords, buttons and bells.
There's no rhyme or reason for the new ownership to be hesitant toward practical tweeks and modification to allow TD a continued development scheme.
