    Lilys Life - Vlogs

I am a huge fan of Lily, who I've followed since the beginning. She is an American female married to a Thai man with three young kids. She lived in Koh Samui for many years where her husband is from, but has recently moved to Bangkok. I have learned a lot about Thailand from her vlogs. She vlogs about her life, but focuses quite a bit on food as they used to have their own restaurant in Koh Samui. She has two adorable young boys, and a baby girl. They also have a live in nanny from Myanmar originally.

She is very popular and has many followers. Have a look if you wish.

Very welcome, she explores quite a few restaurants and coffee shops in Bangkok. She has been a guest on a few vloggers shows in BKK, although not DJ Pat.
It is fun to see some of the places she goes where I've been, but I'm also learning a lot about the places and food. Her family is adorable.

Completely off topic for this absolutely awesome vlog thread about an American woman living in Thailand.

A theory about attraction to other races popped into me noggin.

Apparently, or theorized at least, is that humans are generally attracted to other races due to the small gene pool we exist in due to the small number of humans in the Out Of Africa event, thought to be a few thousand. And that the attraction to breed with other races stems from diluting the gene pool. (Loopsy would be the TDer to consult on both the physical experiences and published works on this matter)

That.... plus non-whities are often fitter and firmer and whities often have better financial security.

Anyway, does Lily go to a market and buy somtam?

Well that suggests she has solid instincts.

The old man looks like he's had a hard life.

^^I think it is a preference, but I dated a lot of Asians and due to the cultural clash, I couldn't do it. It isn't an easy thing, but it seems there are way more men with Asian ladies than the other way around.

Lily goes to markets and nice restaurants and tries many things. You'll have to see for yourself.

Stereoytypes? Different countries, different opportunities/different food etc.

I would think that those who live here would have little interest in her vlog. I know I dont. Have no interest in any of these vloggers in Thailand.

You're seriously missing out on watching the mobile phone captured adventures of American women going shopping for fisherman pants in Thai markets.

I hope you are not referring to Lily. She is an expat just like you and ao and definitely not a tourist.
Anyway, watch or not, doesn't matter to me. I enjoy it.

You're obviously searching for some 'pre-flounce' conflict again.

I lean with AO on Thailand Vloggers and get quite annoyed when various people in the states send me links to them to watch. I live here. Most of what these vloggers show is for the tourist audience that might want to visit. Sadly the vast majority are awful and they either complain about stuff or show their "Hook up" they paid for during their stay.

I can see where you're both coming from. When I was living in Thailand, I never posted on here. I'd occasionally read it but nothing more. I still wouldn't watch a vlog - because it's stuff I already know having lived and visited so often - but this is my connection to the country these days (seeing the food you post, the trips you take and reading the news etc). Real expats on the ground who have been there a long time.

I can't ever imagine watching any Youtube vids about the place for the reasons you stated. Why would you if you are already familiar with the place? Some of the stuff makes my toes curl (e.g. seeing backpackers/tourists pull out a pair of chopsticks in a restaurant ffs ).

    Living vicariously, I suspect.

    As ao stated

Oh well, the kids are cute and her 'health salad with cheese and bacon' raised a titter.

And then my 45 seconds of interest was up.

Better than that bb1950 or whatever his name was, anyway.

Yeah, like post thoughts that just 'pop into your noggin' it's complete bunk.

I'm pretty sure I didn't read it in a published scientific journal.

    Edit:

Starting to research a little and seems there's a non-bunk basis to it after all, based on major histocompatibility complex attraction (MHC), basically attraction to those with different immunity genes.
