Rodent control. What works for you

I got a detached garage here. I noticed some rats a month or so ago. So I did the usual half job and put a few traps out and forgot about it. A few days later the traps were deployed with no rats. Now I can hear the filthy fucks even more and they make me sick.

I hate setting up fucking traps. They go off in your hand and shit. Some genius online said he nails them to a longer plank for better stability. That sounds like a good idea

Anyway I picked this rat zapper up. It takes 4 aa batteries. And unbeknownst to me when I read the reviews, you have to replace the batteries after each kill. That's kinda bunk. I want a 110 one. Anyway I smeared some nutbutter on the back and have it set up.

Another thing I did was make some homemade poison. 3 parts Baking soda, plaster of Paris and whey powder. A few batches of that shit is set up in some old cereal boxes.

In all my years in Vancouver I didn't see a single rat.

    I'm guessing Surrey?

Why expose the poor dog to the detached garage of such a willfully detached person?

Eco friendly traps work, at least for mice. My friend used these and then let them off in a nearby field.

Neither is exploding them. Or perhaps you mean that your friend excused them from punishment?

    Who knows?

How is that echo friendly ? A dead mouse produces less co2 than a live one

I actually have a coon hound that used to kill moles. But he was trained to leave the cat alone and now he thinks the rats are off limits too

working dog for killing, and a cat for prevention
we had them in the extension roof periodically, got a rescue cat that was too young to hunt them but her very presence made them scarper. barely heard them in the months since.

No issue here, but in the sandpit those sticky pads and a quick stamp to the head did the trick.

My furry purring anti-rat device kept the house rat-free for 10 years. She passed on a few months ago and we are catching a rat per week now! We are using a local version of that eco-friendly trap.

Sticky pad then drown them when we had a mouse problem.

Then left them on spikes as a warning.

We had problems with mice in the car engine bay after returning from Covid enforced extended break. This time we left the garage door open and the dogs stayed inside resulting in no mice.

Jacks will never think rats are off limit, they will just snap them up, squirrels, foxes, cats and occasionally the odd dog. versatile little buggers.

I shot a few pigeons the other week and hung one by it's neck from my satellite dish for 3 days. Haven't had any pigeons around ever since.
