You have chosen to ignore Cujo’s account of living under communist rule, and chosen your own version instead.
Although his version is based on only one area of a vast country, it is a good indicator of the Chinese attitude to lockdowns elsewhere in China.
Your version is the unsubstantiated version of foolishness demonstrated by children.
Except there are elections- and the participation rate is higher than the US Presidential elections. These are for the National Peoples Congress- higher echelons are then elected by the members of that tier. A rough comparison is the appointment of a Brit or Australian PM- not directly elected by the People as such.Except there's no elections
Day 12, still restricted to the compound, although allowed out to roam. The stores within the compound are open and vendors come to the front gate in the morning with vegetables for sale.
Mass testing outside (que up) rather than coming to the door. I have a feeling we'll be out of it tomorrow. Everyone who was sent to the quarantine hotel is back.
“If we stop testing right now we’d have very few cases, if any.” Donald J Trump.

Fascinating stuff cujo, cheers. Will green ya when I got bullets.
I drink TSINGTAO. Originally a German beer brewed in the city of Tsing Dao. All the provinces have their own regional breweries but TSINGDAO is sold nationally.
It's a bright sparkling full flavoured, light bodied lager, bloody lovely. And sells for 5 yuan a 600ml bottle in any local corner store. The corner stores sell all kinds of alcohol by the way, unrestricted by hours or location.
As do the supermarkets.
