Good luck with that Ed, I think the training would be excellent, not so sure about stepping in the ring after 35.

Keep us updated with your progress.

Well done mate, stick with it, you appear to have the time.

I often wonder, is it against the rules to just go flying in from the off with flying kicks and windmills or is it just poor etiquette?

Cos I reckon that would spook a devout Buddhist respectful and honourable Thai who just wants to dance and pussyfoot through round 1.

My trainer still goes to BKK to fight from time to time, I'll try get a hold of some footage.
    Lang may yer lum reek...

I’ve seen a few fights when someone has gone all out in around 1, they either gass themselves out or get KOd from something they didn’t see coming.

I'll open up with a running flying knee, a la Masvidal v Askren.

Being Muay Thai, the victim won't go for a wrestling defence move, but will stand up. So the result is a flying knee to the solar plexus and clinch.

Immediately after the clinch, 2-3 shoulder strikes to break their nose, a la McGregor v Cowboy.

Break and quick slashing elbow to the eye socket.

Immediately followed by a KO headkick a la Super-Bon.

So running flying knee to the solar plexus and clinch. Immediate shoulder strikes to break their nose. Slashing elbow to the eye socket to separate. KO Headkick.

I'd estimate it will be maybe 10-15 seconds. 20 at the most.

So fitness or endurance not important.

    No need to train then.

Just go straight in with a chop to the trachea, then when hes on the floor gasping for breath, do a Johny Wilkinson drop kick on his head.
    5 seconds,if he gets up...run like hell.

I trained in Muay Thai three times, three different camps, but mostly for exercise. I never fought and didn't really want to. Good luck, Ed. I miss the workouts.

Not many bucket lists. Just living day to day, taking one month at a time.

With Covid and the way the airline/travel industry is going.. I don't want to plan any trips etc.. see how it goes next year. I want to go back to train in Muay Thai/yoga next year in Thailand or sometime in the near(ish) future.
