To be honest, we probably wouldn't want you and your guns anyway.

Btw, despite your constant butchering of the English language, accommodation is an uncountable noun in any good grammar book.

Chiang fucking Mai. Is there a more overrated "city" anywhere? I can't stand the fucking place.

Give me Bangkok any day of the week. Now that's a proper city.

For me, Perth Oz, BKK and Bacolod, I'd choose either Perth or Seattle. Snubs truly lives in God's country.

But anyway, I met the wife in Perth and happily moved to Korat afterwards.

I have many regrets in life, but moving from Perth to Korat ain't one of them.

^ I never liked Perth and the wife originally came from Korat. Once we hooked up and I was away at work for 5 or 6 months a year... why stay.? Not to mention tax, immigration, etc...

You should. It's a great city (and I say that through the gritted teeth of a northerner).

There's a reason it's the 6th biggest city in France.

Yep, I love Bangkok. As you say, it's a proper city - you can feel it as soon as you arrive. From an expat perspective, Chiang Mai is a bit like Eastbourne, only with no sea and a lot more pollution.

    wtf

Everybody should go there at least once. London's a great place for 3-4 days. Perhaps a bit longer depending on the football away days. You gotta see at least once decent Premier League team play live.

    Ohhh.

Never mind. You're already located in the best place on Earth.

    Listen to Eddie.

How has anyone not been to both London and New York when they are at the age of posting on TD?

I live a 3 hour drive from there and have not visited in 20 years apart from odd trips to Wembley . Overpriced, tourist hell hole full of Chinese, Russian, Arabs and a melting pot of misfits from around the globe.

So many more citys with more to offer..

    Brugge
    Seville
    Florence
    Melbourne
    York
    Edinburgh
    Manchester
    Albuquerque
A lot easier to explore as well.

As for NY maybe one day but I'd rather check out Las Vegas(hint for invite Kitty)

Some decent architecture in London but the football..you need to head north..
    Shalom

I grew up in Perth and didn't miss it the 14 years I was in Laos been back here 2.5 years now. Only really came back for the education benefits it offers the kids. The first thing I had to get my head around when we moved back were all the Rules and how expensive it's become. Kinda stuck here until we get the kids through school. At least we canbtravel for a holiday outside of Australia now

    What's so great about Istanbul?

It's one of the places my Mrs can fly to at short notice without prearranging a visa.

    A historical, cultural melting pot.

Similar to Chiang Mai, but not half as nice. :-)

Very interesting indeed, the big stink does have it's charm. The only thing I like about Chiang Mai is the hiking on your doorstep but the people, Jesus Christ, so up themselves.

Back to the OP, I would say London because America is bloody dangerous. I love NY to bits but definitely only for visiting.

One city we are determined to live in for at least a couple of years is Taipei.

I love Tokyo but I have heard it is better to live in Kyoto/ Osaka and just visit Tokyo when you want to.
