Bit late to the airfryer party Snubs!

Still better late than never, it'll change your life.

You can cook most food stuffs in it and flavours just intensify if you don't clean it out.

This must be the third or fourth thread on the subject.

Oh do not put baked beans in it!

    Here's what you want Snubby

Gourmia 6.6L Digital Air Fryer | Costco UK

Will be even cheaper in the States

You won't need an oven with one of them. Well unless you want a pizza or Sunday lunch

Heard some okay things about them, but never used one meself. Dill and Joe use them, if that tells you anything.

You planning on starting to take food home from work?

My wife and I were looking at combo oven/air fryers. Neither of us have used an air fryer so we were wondering what the fuss is about.

I'd take old school over those fashionable miniature convection ovens. Many are fooled easily.....

'Air fryer' is just another word for 'oven'. It doesn't 'fry' anything. Frying by definition requires oil.
What it does is bake or roast. It's great for doing roasts. Mine makes great crackling on pork and gets roast chicken nice and tender with crisp skin.
The trick is to blast it for 15 minutes on the highest setting then at a low 150 or 160 deg for 15-30 minutes more (depending on the meat size.)
Forget about 'fries'. What you end up with is baked potato, which reminds me, they're great for doing roast spuds along with the chicken.
Peel, parboil, allow to dry and toss in olive oil then place in roaster. (air fryer)
You can also bake bread in it. Make a pizza? Sure, make your pizza dough, allow to rise then roll out about the size of your pizza oven and fry the dough in a frying pan without oil or maybe a little butter for a couple minutes either side. I use a stainless steel frying pan. It works well. (Not frying in the pan as such)
These pizza bases you can keep in the fridge if you want but for now spread your tomato paste, chopped capsicum, peperoni (Or chicken strips or whatever) sprinkle liberally with mozzarella (or your cheez of choice) and using the egg slice pick up your small one person pizza and carefully place on the grate in the air fryer and blast for a couple of minutes on high. This will heat the toppings, melt the cheese and crisp up the base.
By the way, make a lot of pizza dough and after it's risen, whatever you're not going to use divide into small balls, somewhere between the size of a tennis ball and a golf ball, roll in a thin layer of olive oil, wrap individually in clingfilm and stick in the freezer. When the time comes they thaw quickly , (within an hour so you DO need to think ahead a little) roll them out and proceed as above.
Clue, when making pizza dough, for that extra fragrance sprinkle liberally with dried mixed Italian herbs.)
Well, that one got away on me.
