I made some frozen tamales for dinner yesterday. The air fryer is really amazing when doing those.

    What's a tamale?
Is this a Jeffrey Dahmer thing?

    You would never understand.

When it is made the right way, it is an amazing dish, best bought off the streets from little Mexican ladies who have a roadside stand. The lady I buy mine from sells them in freezer bags by the dozen. I have not visited her in a while and I just realized that I still had two left in the freezer so popped them in the air fryer and the result was simply heaven. I will be heading out to pay her a visit in the morning.

Corn masa almost like what they use to make tortillas, stuffed with what you like with the mexican spices. Rolled in corn husk, and steamed. Indeed very nice.

    Cooked.

They are not leaves, they are husks. Corn husks and yes they are wrapped in them then cooked.

After all the shit you post shoving in your gullet. A tamale made by a loving Mexican lady is a godsend. Funny when you Brits and the one small Irish leprechaun post pics of "Mexican" food. You dudes need to come to the West Coast. West coast, best coast.

Let's do a drunk run across the border to Mexico...

    Cool I'm in!

Paying $2 is that the going rate?

I bet those hookers in the videos can scoff a fair bit of tamale lard.

Cheaper than half a larger and lime in the pub!

I should imagine a lard sandwich made by a loving lady of any nationality is a godsend after 10 pints of beer!

I actually cycled past a sweetcorn field looking for some husks to have a go at the recipe MM posted a link to.
    Unfortunately I couldn't find any.

I might use banana skins instead, I've heard they're just as effective.

Not keen on this lard mallarky but I'll give it a go in the interest of exploring American cuisine.
I might strike it lucky, it could be as good as baked beans.
    Shalom

This isn't something you will find yourself saying if you try the Colombian version, believe me.

I don't know if any food could come close to your beloved baked beans. I must say, my mom makes a mean baked bean. She makes it with maple syrup. lol
Lard reminds me of my grandmother, she used to make pies like crazy, and use to always talk about her lard. lol

Sober as a judge, some of us have to be up bright and early for Trabaco!

I want to try this meal but unfortunately I dont reside in Columbia, Mexico or Seattle.

So i shall endeavour to purchase some lard tomorrow and give it a go in Hells kitchen!

    God bless America!

    Has Ciz cleaned up yet?
Try the Dill gangster naam bread next time Ciz if you can't control your bowel movements, no need to thank me.
