    Designer watch battery replacement questions

my wife has this DKNY timepiece. It is a gold bracelet style. It was $300+ and has some sentimental value. Anyway the battery went on it.

It looks like a sealed unit. Is there a way to change batteries ? Do i have to get a watch repairman to do it ? Has anyone done this before ?

^ It should be easy enough as long as it isn't waterproof to 50m or deeper.

Take it to a good watch shop. My wife has a Cartier Roadster, which in the ladies model is battery driven. Had it for about 14 years, and maybe every 5 years needs a new battery. The shop she uses is an opticians that also sells quality watches. Phuket Town I know no use to you, but I think they're part of a chain.

Tahts what I did. There's a watch guy at the local dept store. He changed the battery right in front of me. $22 installed.

Ah, but that waterproof seal is the important bit to change also.

You didn’t know what to do when a watch battery goes flat?
    Seriously?

While you’re here, where do I go to get a bicycle tyre changed?

I used to change screens on flip phones in the early 2000's numbnuts . This watch looks like one piece of metal. There's nothing to indicate that it can be taken apart. I didn't want to start experimenting on it.

The watch repairman has something called skills. That he acquires from specializing on watches. And he had a tool to open it up. But i didn't even know if watch repair places were common anymore. Hence the thread.

Yeah, that’s why it’s bleedin’ obvious that you take it to a watch seller!

My post clearly implied that, but you were too damn dense to get it.

Its not bleeding obvious at all. Almost all of retail these days is just that. Retail ! And the employees are just drones. This isn't the 1950's. Where skilled craftsmen are on staff to handle your repairs and shit.

Try getting a pair of shoes fixed at Sportcheck

I took PAG's advice and brought it in while i was going out to get a haircut anyway. I didn't even know if it was the battery. Something else could have been fucked. Don't forget that we are dealing with women here. Why would I want to start ripping it apart and getting shit for it if there's a bad result ?

I would have had to drive to get a battery anyway.

A ‘craftsman’ to change a watch battery.

People are ‘on hand’ to change watch batteries, as you just found out.

wtf do sports shoes have to do with anything?

Good that you knew where to get a haircut, at least. Did you ask about that on smeg’s site?

Quit while you’re behind, eh ‘numbnuts’?

The watch didn't work. It was just a guess that the battery was dead.

And the guy who changed it was a crafty old man. It wasn't just some 18 yo blowjob retail drone who watched a video on an IPad to learn how to do it.

I know who she is, in fact did business with her when I was with Bali Fabrications a hell of a long time ago.

Just solidified your position of resident moron in spades.

    Money to waste hey.
    Hope you watched him carefully.
If a smooth back, as you stated then you could have opened it with a penknife, changed battery, and snapped it shut without problem. Cheap designer watch with heavy price tag.

I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will change your watch battery.”
