No. This is only my daily watch. There may be expensive materials inside but I have never looked so can't be sure and I don't want to come across as a bull-shitter.

I was going to tell Skiddy that I also own a custom (hand-made) Swiss 15,620 carat gold watch which is also diamond encrusted (but only 2.5 carats) but I am too modest to talk about it and Skiddy probably wouldn’t believe me anyway, so I won't mention it.

Sounds like she worked in the dual-time section and she hadn't synchronized with your single time setting.

Suzuki Swifts are for small women. A DKNY watch for the driver would be a great pairing.

    Do you have a watch?

Any pics will do, and if not your “going out” one, your “stay at home” one would suffice.

I kept it at two, you just had to flex.

You have great taste mate, and I knew you did after seeing your house build. We may not agree on all things, but you are a true watch aficionado.

Nice touch, taking the pic on top of mine. Flexing.

I was in that new house for only one year. Unsolicited an agent offered me $1.2mill profit to sell it. I took the money and am building another a few blocks down as I had owned this building block for 20 years.

In the meantime I bought another house on the same lake whilst the new one is being built.

Other than that I am bored shitless.

    Now does anyone collect pens?

I got one more before I fuck off for the night. It is my favorite Panerai the 187 otherwise known as the Subzilla. I will note that I have my watch straps custom-made in Indonesia by the same guy that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone uses. That is the cool thing about Panerai watches. That you can get amazing bespoke watch straps handmade by small artisans.

You are a savage. I own several commercial and residential properties here in Seattle. I am holding and reaping a massive reward as they spiral upwards.

I tried that, but I almost never write anything, in fact my penmanship has suffered. It is a new era for sure.

Great looking watch, I tend to never change any straps or anything eg bezel etc.

I am also not averse to buying second hand if in pristine condition and the price is right.

I use Chrono 24 for a pricing guide but only buy from dealers I have known for years

I do as well, but I buy from a few NYC, LA, SF and SEA dealers that I have known for years. I owned most of the Rolexes that you have currently. Sadly, I was a mad trader of watches and I passed them on. I do not do that anymore. I will hold all I buy from here on.

Good to hear you are in a buoyant property market in Seattle. I have industrial factories that I rent out, I tend to avoid residential as the returns are smaller and I hate dealing with the public.

Not collect per se, though I do have a couple of matchng Mont Blanc, one a ball point, the other a retractable.

Back to watches, my decent pair, Cartier Roadster, and a Rolex Oyster Datejust.

Also have a Garmin Fenix 3 that I use quite a lot.

M'Sahib's Cartier Roadster, non Chronograph, and battery driven. Cartier discontinued the Roadster range in 2012. Looking on-line for her model, current prices seem to be circa USD7,000 or so.

Mrs Ice knows very little about watches. I bought her a Rolex and she wore it like a disposable, gardening, housework etc. I then got her a Rado and told her just to use that and keep the Rolex for “going out” as backspin would say.

I have to confess the Rado has a battery but wifey does not mind.

Yes I like Cartier watches but have never owned one.

I stopped collecting pens some years ago. I only collected Mont Blanc and Parker limited or special editions. Like Bsnub, I rarely use a pen and I started giving them away as presents a few years back. I still have a good few but they are packed in a box somewhere and I never use them.

i have a phone now and never wear a watch anymore, i always hated wearing one anyway, particularly in hot countries - the two i own have sat in a draw for nearly 10 years and they can sit till my estate gets sorted.

Hope you have included them in your willl, otherwise the first one in that drawer will settle that part of your estate.

One is an Omega, the other which i wore frequently is a Seiko Kinetic - from that you can tell i never cared about watches but it was reliable until the capacitor went after 6 years and i dropped it off a balcony in BKK.

The cleaner can walk off with them for all i care, she'll like the Omega.

In my 20's I was quite into fashion and stuff, the kids came and i became less so, by the time i approached my 50's the Armani et al went to charity shops and Salvation Army drop offs - i imagine there are a few surprised staff - at least one bin drop i remember posting into a morrisons carpark bin cost over £10K new I estimate- i was young and silly and if your clothes got you into the knickers of some bird coz that impressed them, then it was money well spent.

Actually my youngest daughter nicked a few pairs of my jeans rightly pointing out i couldn't fit them anymore and then turned up in them having had them altered.

    EDIT

I never told her what i got up to in them
