Cannot detach the carburetor without access to the retaining screw so it was a choice between removing the starter assembly to gain legal access or bodging my way through the engine cover with a pair of tin snips and a power drill

It is fun, especially with the 11 year solar cycle on the upswing. The sun has been super active lately making for good propagation on the high frequency bands. Now would be the time to get involved, but in 5 years, it would be a pass.

More bodginess abounds on the rooftop today

What does a dedicated bodger do when his roof starts leaking during the 4th once in a 100 years storm in 3 years?

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220406_183820-jpg

Does he call a professional accredited roofer out?

    Not a chance.

He gets up on the roof with a roll of the cheapest Chinese knock-off butyl roof repair tape money can buy and he gets stuck in

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220406_183917-jpg

While I was up there I thought I would clear out the gutters and one of the life forms burgeoning there-in was this massive baby tree. That root stalk is as thick as I won't tell you what

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220406_185928-jpg

Anyway all the vegetation is removed. Just need to get up there with the pressure hose and spray all the sludge out and down the down-pipes and into the water tank

(....Does a bodger fix up a down pipe dirty-water redirection solution first? Not a chance. Getting the shit out of the water tank is a job for future-bodger. I don't envy that guy!)

Great bodging opportunity found while I was wrapping up the roof work...

These rivets have popped and that gap looks about right for a scoosh of roofing silcone without bothering to redo the rivets.

The little pointy tip is the bit that closes off the fuel supply when the carb is full and the float rises. It is made of rubber so you should not put E10 in a lawn mower as the ethanol causes the rubber tip to dry out and become brittle and not seal properly and flood your carb.

    Bodginess abounds in the lounge

Project projection resurrection is finally underway thanks to a timely reminder from The Hat that Tom Cruise in a flight suit cannot be viewed on a small screen

Semi-projection-erection achieved after much grunting and sweating

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220731_044916-jpg

This motorised coonty weighs 8kg so reinforcement was necessary

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220731_045138-jpg

Luckily the bracket separation exactly matched the separation of the sliding doors so I was able to avail myself of their uprights in the conjuring some engineering reinforcement

    Thar she blows

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220731_045500-jpg

    And down she goes.

At $133 including delivery from Melbourne I was anticipating a potential premature projector erector failure.

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220731_045842-jpg

Can't believe I have lived without a projector for almost 4 years.

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220731_062734-jpg

Looking good until I accidentally kicked the power supply loose. This is very bad since the fan stops dead when normally it would run for 2 minutes after normal controlled shutdown. The red light of death came on when I got the power back on...

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220731_063403-jpg

But it eventually recovered and the lamp came back on much to my relief. The bulb was not dead, although it probably had a hundred hours wiped off its lifetime.

    Show us your bodgy DIY-img_20220731_062818-jpg

For a pro job I would install the projector on the ceiling but I am planning on remodelling the lounge so this is an interim arrangement.

I can almost smell that picture. And that's good. I think I mowed the lawns in the 90's with something like that.

Dyson should get off his ars.... floating sofa, and invent a hovering, bladeless lawnmower.

That goes 0-100 in <2 seconds.

no it doesn't matter, it would if it was a three pin. If you think about it, you don't worry which way you plug it in.

I could explain it to you but as I am not a sparky - ( though I do have a current qld electrical license ) - we do have actual fcukin sparkies - david48 - on the board

Edwina can plug it out and back in the other way round, if that's required.
