My Old Boy bought this one brand new from the showroom in Scotland.

It was the first model to be released with an electric start.

He removed it the same day he got it and sold it for a spliff.

It was imported in bits in 2 shipments, 1 got hit by tax. So if the transport office have any kind of record of that that it would be the place to start.

**If Mods wanna move this Norton posts to a new thread that might be best. This project will take years.

This morning I've reset the back wheel with the right amount of slack on the chain. Soon as I tighten it up it goes stiff again.

I've come to the conclusion that I've put the wheel collars on the wrong sides.

    Show us your bodgy DIY-screen-shot-2023-02-16-10-a

So basically, Parts 4 and 5 are not the same, one is longer. When I tighten up the wheel it is pulling the wheel against the brake pad and calipers.

What an absolute cnut I am.

Ah well good practice, bodge on.

Rode me ol' 650 on a 2000km ride a month or so ago, and just noticed today it's missing it's belly pan.

Don't suppose anyone has a face mask bodge for it.

For that and rusty cruddy downpipes.

You can get Brasso in Tesco, that'll sort it right out.

    Otherwise, there's also this:

That's the kid's weekend job sorted.

Should have the engine running while they wrap it or not?

Well dip me in batter and deep-fry me golden brown, it only fookin' works.

And it only cost me my favourite t-shirt.

Now that I know it works I'll push the kid off and actually do it properly.

    Or somewhat properly at least.

Good to know if I ever let my pipes go rusty...
