    Private Health Insurance in 2022

If anyone could recommend a health insurance provider I would highly appreciate it. There are so many out there from sketchy to poor cover to over budget that it would be great to hear some recommendations. Personal experience is invaluable when it comes to such matters.

I'm looking for Thailand cover for my family (Wife, 2 kids) as I will need international cover due to the nature of my work and Nationality.

    Cheers.

I started looking around recently and an expat Belgian recommended this Dutch outfit. She said they were very good to deal with. I haven't got around to comparing their rates/cover. They offer local and global options.

Health insurance outside your home country.

It's quite pricey. Minimal difference between the 100k and 600k (USD) cover package and the elite is high.

Premium goes up from age 56 onwards, so the quoted 55 Y.O. is the lowest.

Have you got any trusted Insurance broker where you are to guide you?

I've been with Pacific International (now Pacific Cross) for over 30 years with worldwide cover excluding Japan and Nth America, which takes about 35% off the yearly premium. Have made a few claims over the years including 2 sizeable ones, no problems.

Ii don't think it matters that you're not in Pattaya to have the guy everyone trusts here guide you and provide advice/quotes, Jack Levy is his name and he's been here doing this since the 90's. We do my GF's health insurance and any cars/bikes we might have through him, wouldn't hurt to send him an email explaining what you're looking for.

My wife has been with AIA for over 30 years, and is now in management and a Certified Financial Planner as well. They have some good products and I and we are fully covered, as were our kids before they left for America. I can vouch for the company and the individual agent. You may pm if you like.

...I've used BUPA (now Aetna) for years...the only time I needed them was a 4-day hospital stay for which they paid 80% of the total: hospital food, internet, cable and daily flowers came out of my own pocket...

I have a quote for the kids kicking about somewhere so I will compare it. But I'm already in the mind I'm not interested because the broker came to us (with a calendar for the bar) then started pushing services. I hate when people approach my wife and try to sell her things. Or me for that matter. Turns out she went for a health and savings plan. NO.

The process towards a quote from their site has also annoyed me from the get-go and I've given up on it.

After all the nonsense it pinged me back to the start but everything was in Thai.

I'm guessing you get this highly discounted or for free?

I guess because you are company sponsored.

I tried again with them today, It was going well, then all of a sudden the next page has all the text in pictures which don't translate. Then the policy is all in Thai which is no use to me at all. I need to read this and understand where we are covered and where we are not.

I've made an appointment with an office for Tuesday and gave her pre-warning I will require everything in writing in English, so see how we go.

Yeah, I really didn't do much to get the policy started.

Good approach. Doing things online here can be.....well...a PITFA, especially for a foreigner. Even if in English there are still gaps. For me when the time comes I will let my wife handle all of it. Not because I get frustrated but she is a really good negotiator and Thai with Thai always works better. Like it was in the US when my wife and I lived there. She passed it all to me because I know our systems better.

I will mention you to my wife. Simply do you have a website in English that can explain about policies and pricing.
