    A call center nightmare

Ebookers stay away from the buggers.

I flew with Ebookers for many years regular, they've now been bought by expedia and boy what an experience I've had with them.

Purchased ticket had to change flights,so had to pay more ok thats fair.

for a whole week I had emails from them saying something wrong with the ticket.

With Ebookers now their call center is in the Phils, so I've had a series of phone calls to establish the problem, and believing it was resolved everytime and confirmed flight was paid etc

Gets to Manchester airport yesterday, to be told at check in, no tickets had been issued, so once again ring my idiot agents in the phils to be told if i wanted to change ticket i had to pay another 1k, which then got changed to £645 ok I thinks they've already admitted they have fucked up, so will pay and just get on the flight, so just about to pay and I ask will this payment go through in time for flight yes sir all good, hold on one minute sir, need to change something, comes back no can't get on this flight.

Anyway to cut a very long story short.

Now Mr Call center India gets on the line, oh I'd been asking to speak to a supervisor for a week now comes available.

So he offers a complete refund and if i book my flight again they will refund that too, I says to him how about my other losses, PCR test, Taxi to airport, my ASQ hotel in BKK and my lost time trying to resolve the problem, approximate time on telephone 10 hrs.

He says oh we will see later about this, haha i got onto the email for complaints and they got back to me quickly and resolved all in one email.

Anyway warning to all be very careful with Ebookers call centers they are totally incompetent and so badly trained, its like listening to a training manual, if you go off the script they go into chaos mode

what a journey this is turning out to be.

^^^ Coincidentally I just had to change my flight BRS-AMS-BKK and delay departure by two days. I had booked a flexible ticket direct with KLM on their website since I thought changes were likely, but it was still cheaper than your £645.

It took 10 minutes to change the flight online and I have the new confirmed booking. Why do you use companies like Ebookers?

these days it would be negligence of the highest order to book a flight with any organisation other than the airline or a reputable agency such as trailfinders (in the uk).

a worldwide shortage of call center staff as they are lured away to better paying unskilled jobs means that those that are manning the phones will be even more overworked and incompetent.

Thousands of flights weren’t being cancelled or rerouted before (COVID)

Only an idiot books via third parties now: go to the airline website.

    Look at the OP.

He probably saved £27 on the original booking.

^^ Even before COVID I gave up on the likes of skyscanner et al. Complications with seat reservations and refunds etc. make the minor economies not worth it.

In COVID times I wouldn’t touch them with a bargepole.

You can use your ThailandPass up to 72 hours from the time of your planned arrival. Just make sure you update the hotel, transfer and test.

You don't have to reapply if you're in that window.
