    • Qatar Airways.
    • Singapore Airlines.
    • ANA All Nippon Airways.
    • Emirates.
    • Japan Airlines.

    Singapore airlines rip off

Nippon never flew them but to expensive

Emirates is still better than most European carriers

Qatar always been happy with their flights

Japan very good flights or where, but expensive

Air2000 were my favourites purely because of the trolley dolley black uniforms and they were all nymphomaniac slappers.

That is not the point i am making, its that their offer has suffered cut backs, as have many others. I first flew with them in 99, regularly flew business with them through to c07 - their business class offering has steadily improved with flat beds etc but they like many others have made savings in the economy class.

I must admit I did larf when Emirates removed the footrests in cattle class so they could put showers up the front.

People get what they pay for. They are no different to any other airline, Profit will be the focus of any business, There airports facilities, customer service, Planes, are more advanced than many of long established airlines.

It was some of the little things that made me laugh. The ME carriers without exception used to give out the little comfort packs - socks, tooth brush and paste and eye mask. First they did away with the socks, then the pack altogether but you could still ask for the tooth brush and paste which you got grudgingly. Their economy offers peaked in around 2009 and then started their downward trend post financial crisis. Its just all the little cuts they made, quality of the snacks and drinks etc. Not surprising as around the same time they were all busy maxing out their fleets and fighting over the same customers.

Places like Qatar and Abu Dhabi were also updating their airports so you ended up parked about 3kms away from the terminal waiting for buses and then a made to scrum in the shitty old terminals funnelling multiple flight through transit check - what joy Still they are all infinitely better that Delhi or Bombay

Air2000, there's a blast from the past. We flew with them to Creté when I was 7 years old,

Every Christmas, I take one of the Asian airlines back to the states — usually EVA or Japan Airlines.

Nothing has changed in the 20-30 years I've been taking them, except the back of the plane isn't filled with cigarette smoke.

The food and service are always top-notch — and the prices are very reasonable if booked early.

I actually enjoy flying and chilling in airport restaurants before flights.

    I was somewhere for sure.

I will say don't what the rest of the worlds like for travelling at present, but I won't be doing more until this settles down. Chaos at Manchester airport, they may have upgraded the airport and downgraded the service.

Leaving the UK with all the checks and the chaos at counters and in the security check area, was well glad to be out of there.

I said Qatar air food was good, I take back my words, the yoghurt was nice....

I thought I wasn't going to get on the plane at Doha to reach BKK The Thai pass was a day out of date, which the counter staff thought. but its valid for up to 72hrs after the date.

Took him about 20 minutes to find out, even though I told him I would ring the Thai help line so he could confirm it. Anyway the not informed staff know now.

Upon arrival all immigration wanted to see was Thai pass, and hotel booking, sailed through, my only complaint was the airport was virtually empty of Planes, and we still had a long trek to immigration.

ASQ has been fine picked up at airport and say i get results around 8am, I was under the impression it only took up to 6 hours, but the receptionist told us not true.

Hotel is fine, get 3 meals for the day, had two so far, but, nice food but not hot.

Well just had my delivery to get over the travel so chill out time.

Be so nice to get back and just chill out, I've well had enough of this Covid shit now

Yeah, this seems to be beyond hotels that charge less than 4K a night.
Many have circumvented the problem by providing microwaves.

4-6 hours in Phuket was the norm, Bangkok has varied from (the fastest I've seen) 3.5 hours to Richard Barrow's 28!

Did you get tested at the hotel or on the way?

At the hotel, the Reception told me definitely get by 8/9 am, as long as I can get flight to Ubon I'm fine. Would of been nice to get back quick, could of taken a walk about. Driving from airport the traffic was nothing like it was before, funny as UK roads are the same, this must be hitting the Economy big time, only drove to suki, soi 5 the amount of closures and lack of people on a Friday afternoon. phew

If anything Chico says starts making sense to you seek immediate medical attention.

    Stroke, probably.
