Well honestly Snubs, Its pretty much the same in these parts as you in Seattle. Wife still makes her morning runs to the local market for supplies but about half our meals are ordered and delivered daily. The delivered food is pretty good. Some of the restaurants have become very professional in their delivery and packaging. Outside of that, as many have mentioned, many of the local restaurants we used to go out to are closed up and gone and seriously doubt they will return. A shame really as some were really nice places to eat.

On my trip back to the states recently, I found it to be about the same. We frequently ordered food in at my parents house. However the little butcher shop/ store around the corner was open and I would walk over and pick up some nice steaks or fish and Q at home with them. I avoided becoming a hermit like so many were becoming.

For now, I think this is part of the "New" pre covid life we will live until something changes.

I agree, so much has changed due to Covid. Traveling is a nightmare, the rules here are constantly in a state of flux making it hard to plan to do anything, good restaurants are gone, nobody visit people anymore so the social gatherings which were fun are gone, having to wear a mask all the time which I absolutely hate. I think for me the only real upside has been working from home 100%. But even that has its own issues as you lose continuity with operations at the factory with folks. Vid calls do help but I still prefer the face to face social interaction.

How much will return to what it was is a huge unknown. Things are relaxing a bit but I suspect the mask thing will become an issue as it did in the states and other Western countries. There will be stares and arguments.

It’s actually only in the US where a significant number of people have been complete twats about it.

I see no reason at all why Thais should go that way. From what I’ve seen over the last three months, Thais will not be kicking up a fuss about masks. They are pissed off with Prayuth and his boss in significant numbers, though.

I was talking to my mum the other day (She is in UK), she was recounting trouble she had with her mask - the wire bit was bothering her chin. Sigh. That meant she had it on upside down. She then stated that she had three other masks at home.

I laughed. Just looking around my bedroom - I have something like 100 or so, and an equal number scattered elsewhere around the house (for the kid/missus). Mostly single use disposables.

The best (for me) are the 3D "asian style" (think they first became popular in this part of the world). But even then, different models have different "wearability".

Get a make/style that works for you, and it becomes much less onerous.

I agree Nidhogg and my wife has 20 or so different ones around and I have found a few that work for what I may be doing at a given time. For me I hate wearing one when riding my Mtn bike. I have altered my riding routes to stay away from people however when I drop the mask as I am riding to breath and not sweat in it, invariably someone sees me or passes by on a scooter and I get the "Stare" like I am breaking the law and contaminating the planet. Of course I am 20 or 30 ft away from them but that doesn't matter. Wearing one in a mall or high traffic areas (while I still do not like them) I wear without question.

To Cyrille's comment above about Thai folks, Do not kid yourself. There have been quite a few run ups with people not wearing them or wearing them improperly and people publicly arguing. I saw one at the Central Mall parking lot just a few weeks back. My wife reminds me about it when she reads about them in the local news etc. Locally we have this current situation where people have tested positive or have been exposed to Covid and they are not staying home nor informing people they have it or been exposed, especially at the local markets. On the local Mooban PA speech system, the Grand poobah the other day warned people of this situation and to stay away from the markets. How long this will go on who knows.

I guess it is, what it is.

Agree. All mine are single use. Think the fabric reusable ones are problematic.

Nothing too onerous. I wear a mask outside, I check my temperature when going into shops and some other buildings and I splash some gel on to my hands now and again. Restaurants are open and I haven't had any food delivered at all during the pandemic. No need to. But I did download some delivery apps just in case. I see plenty of delivery motorcycles around so obviously other people are getting food delivered. All the people I know personally and have spoken to recently have been vaccinated. I'm still cautious about going to busy places like markets, though. If I go, I don't stay there long - just in and out to get what I went there for.

I have no issues wearing a mask.

Half the time I'm out I've used my motorbike so wear one of these, as I wear them under my helmet anyway.

Not sure what a snood is, but good to pull it up to the rim of me sunnies when riding. In daily 40 degree blazing sunshine me face would be like the Polish flag if I didn't.
