They've normally got a seasonal aisle. But even Big C's selection was a lot smaller than past years yesterday.

...move upmarket a little: Central Chidlom has a nice selection of Christmas schlock on the 4th floor...the basement supermarket has aisles of panettone, Waitrose holiday products and an enormous selection of other goodies...

A pet hate too on the local food groups who think the products they're comparing shipped or flew to Thailand, cleared one of the most corrupt customs departments in existence with no duty, and got distributed around the country for free. The same people will happily pay the equivalent of 500 Baht for a 45 Baht Pad Thai though, without seeing the irony.

What makes that santa gay TC?

Armstrong are you planning on giving the fat pug a makeover and is she making a new years resolution to shed some weight and be able to jump the 8 inches up onto the settee?

Xmas is no time for a diet Malmö.

Shopping trip with the kid for some more decorations this afternoon. Classy stuff, obviously.

Feel a bit like I'm in a dodgy karaoke bar, not that I know what they're like.

    Daughter decorated her bedroom first.

Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

Xmas is not just for small kids

There were two families in the village that started a thing outdoing each other to decorate their houses, got ridiculous toward the end, like Blackpool but not so subtle. It stopped when people complained the lights were keeping them up at night

Nice thread and youve made the effort here and for your kids.

P.S. I think there may be a failed aslumpeme seeker concealed on your sofa look like one of the Blackfoot tribe from my part of Montana, could just be teh famous Bangna Bigfoot at large, lock up your pigs in wankettes.

Has your daughter ever had a "proper" Christmas at home in Norwich with the family, armstrong?

Nope. She's never been to the UK yet. She's desperate to though.

I've only been back twice in 12 years.

It's never quite the same when you're not at home for Christmas IMO; I bet she'd love it with the cold weather and general Christmassy atmosphere.

Whenever I'm there for the big day, which I still love, I know I've got a flight out of there though before the horrors of January, February and March arrive.

Agreed. Seafood and cold beer, wearing boardshorts on the beach, where it's a perfect 20 degrees.

    Nothing like the UK.

There was one time when I was in that situation but then swiftly wishing I was back in the UK.

It was when the tsunami hit.
