How did the FaceBook outage affect you?

It kept my wife out of my face as she was busy visiting all her friends to show them what she had for dinner.
It did not affect me, because I have TD to post my dinners. and I don't have friends anyway.
Who needs them anyway, they are all a bunch of jealous of my good looks wankers .
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

I saw it on the morning News. Otherwise I would not have known it happened.

I normally log in everyday, it is how I communicate with my closest friends, so my niece had asked me a question the night before that I went to answer after school and I couldn't get on. I kept getting an error. I then found out it was up, but still wasn't working for me. I had to clear my cache and browsing history before I got back on it. It was a hiccup, but was weird as fb never goes down. lol.

I need friends too, very difficult to display my superiority in all things human and some that by some standards could be considered superhuman. even god like. without friends to rub it in.
But I accept my burden with the humidity that is displayed in this thread and others. I realise that it is difficult to relate to my magnificents .

By the way , good to see you back and posting . I had not seen you on TD for a while. I hope all was well.

    Doing OK,
Seems like since I was away for a couple of years everyone got more dogs, which are whining and barking all day long, in addition all these travel restrictions are getting a bit long on the tooth. Now that I am here I can't wait to leave .
I guess all part oh A.D.D personality . A couple of months traveling will fix all that and I will be missing Thailand again, because I have the memory and attention span of a mayfly and I am a glutton for punishment . LOL

What do you mean "Haha, real joker eh "

At least you admit it. lol
Maybe it's just culture shock, you'll ease into it, I'm sure covid situation is making it all worse.

No effect at all, but my FB usage is 99% messenger to keep in touch with my kids and close friends.

I never noticed either, I'm guessing it happened late in the evening?

I was star-shaped in bed by 9pm after a crippling game of futsal.

    Scored 5 goals, btw.

Because of the time difference it must have happened during the daytime in the US, which is nighttime here, which is why most of us did not notice it.
I did not notice it either , like some of you I also mostly use it for messenger. to keep in touch with friends and family, and Local FB groups to ask questions about the area I am in.
It is a useful thing to have. For instance , if I take a picture with my phone, I message it to myself on FB, then open FB on my computer and save the picture on my computer. it takes less than a minute. A lot easier than downloading the picture from my phone or from the cloud.

How do you send yourself a messenger message?

I have emailed pics to myself for the same purpose in the past but now I can airdrop from Iphone to macbook.

The problem with sending pics through messenger is that the quality of the picture drops during the process, which is fine for some purposes and not for others.

Or you just post the pic to your wall, save it to comp then delete it?

Might have to be fast for some pics, unless you really do have no friends.

If you have an Iphone , simply open the picture on your phone, on the bottom left corner there is the "forward" icon it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards.
click on that and you will get a number of options how to forward the picture, one of them is FB "Messenger" when you click on the FB messenger option a list of your contacts will drop down, your name should also be there,

if you don't see your name, use the search window in the same page and search for your name.
Select and then on the top right corner click "send"
It is easy, and quick ( takes less than a minute) . I do it every day, and just did it as I was typing this post to make sure I had the steps right.
I suspect the same or similar process applies for Android phones.

PS: you would of course need to have the FB app on your phone

No Impact. I do not have a FB acct, nor Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn. They could all tank tomorrow and the world would be a better place quite honestly. I am not saying that because I am older and outdated. I think all those sites are the decay of our social system and full of lonely narcissistic people looking to one up others by being liked or approved. Sad really.

Well thank God you do not friend people or really believe that Repo on this site matters. TD is just an isolated site for fun. But honestly Snubs, I could walk tomorrow and wouldn't miss it a bit.

Tough guy talk. Be honest, you like it here. TD is an eclectic and unique place in time. It is locked in the past, and it attracts no new members for the most part.

Those that post here are the last of the Mohicans.

    But we persevere.

Well jings crivens, it works. And it turns out I’ve done this once before, sending myself a quote of some fictional scribble I penned on this very forum on 9th October 2013 at 0017 South Korea time.

BA: Ahm nae tellin yooz fuck all aboot it bit ah heard Mushy John's name come up. that's ah yez are gittin fae me! Bastards. (hang up)

Right, can we get a location on Mushy John. The mushroom cultivation season is now over so he'll have his stash for the coming year in his freezer by now so that rules out the golf course. PC Darroch, take PC Murty and go find the wee shite bag, you can't miss him with his long ginger hair and large E tattooed on his forearm. Likely to be wearing a 1994 Dons home shirt....

There's really not many places Mushy John can be, since he was caught red handed spending his dole on smack in a dealer sting operation. Crown Street is well known for it's work-shy miscreants, drug dealers, guest houses, half-way houses and hostels for the homeless. Best place to start. As they walked down Crown Street They could see a possible match standing at the window of Shirlaws the Motorcycle Shop, bent at the knees arms stretched out in front with the wrist flicking on an imaginary throttle. Not to mention he was making noises like his make believe bike had a hole in the exhaust.

5'10" male, long red hair like a burst couch, ancient Aberdeen shirt, ADIDAS trackies and a pair of old boots.
    Good times haha.
