    Rage Quitting

...has anyone here ever left a job in a snit? I once walked out of a situation where the boss was a very short-tempered individual who would blow up at staff and never apologize no matter how insulting he had been...felt wonderful:

Walking out of a job in anger can seem extreme – but there are often powerful motivations for doing it.

It was sweltering inside the nightclub where Alexander was DJing, in the US state of Virginia. Though it was more than 40°C outside, the club’s air conditioning was broken. It felt extra sticky and humid because the club was hosting a special event: a Pokemon-themed foam party, where upwards of 400 clubbers were frolicking in suds.

“I literally had ice packs on my neck in order to not pass out,” remembers Alexander, now 35, of the 2016 event. The heat was also damaging his gear, and he’d had enough. Over the microphone, so everyone could hear, he berated the club owner for lying about fixing the air conditioning and for the equipment-frying conditions. “I’m done,” he said, then stormed out. As much as I would like to pack it in when it comes to online/hybrid learning I have a feeling it would damage my career prospects in the future. It's not the kids as much as it is limitations of technology, the ministry of education forgetting the age of children when setting expectations and just to isolation of it all. Work from home does not make me calm and wanting to bake bread in my free time. This forced introversion can be a shade rage inducing at times.

Never …. but absolutely certain I’d have been rage fired a few times over the years if it was in the power of a few of my various bosses.

Sort of. I was about 14/15 and was working evenings at the Copthorne Hotel in Aberdeen as a kitchen porter as an extra hand for all the Christmas functions. My Auntie hired me and my cousin was also a KP.

One night the head chef told me to forget any new year plans cos I was in the rota to work it.

I told him I was unavailable and he said I had no choice. I exploded on him, called him an arsehole and told him to shove his shitty job up his ass.

Then he told me he was only joking and praised me for having some balls.

It was a close call, cos I’d already bought the drugs.

I worked at huge printing factory, my brother got me the job - about 2 weeks in, another day on the box folding machine, me at one end, the bosscunt at the other end - about 30m away. He always would go off about nothing - stupid loudmouth jezzoppo.
I had a bad hangover and fucken hated the job - he went off again and I just walked away - out the factory door, to bus stop and never came back., didn't say a word, I wasn't even angry.

It was grouse - my bro said it had the rest of the staff laughing cos they knew the boss was c*nt.

One person's 'rage quit' is another's 'Got paid ... Gone'.

I served four and a half days at Fortnum and Mason and got paid mid-day on the Friday.

I don't like to burn bridges, but....

No one should take shit at their work.

    Leave,.....if you can afford it.

Walked out mid shift on this fine establishment- due to the owners temper, pettiness and I was so over being burned with hot oil for low wages.

I once ran out off an Amazon warehouse, I'd made all the money I wanted and the job was probably the worst I have had. Don't care about burning that bridge.

cant remember walking from anger so much as walking due to , wont take shit or stupidity.... all too often. after getting rid of the wife, the kids and the mortgage, it all got worse to the point of me being unemployable. i did the right thing.
