Birthday dinner at home. I was fortunate to have a local chef to come in and run the evening. Foie gras with Sauternes jelly, bouef en croute and a white chocolate mousse with raspberries and a raspberry "milkshake". All very lovely with excellent company. Old school French food with excellent Sauternes and an astonishly good claret. I'm old and grouchy, and wanted to avoid the hassle of a restaurant.

Did that milkshake not curdle with the wine?
Many happy returns
milkshake is best enjoyed in strict moderation. Unlike the wine. Thanks for the birthday wishes :-)
Happy birthday LAF!
repas appétissant
Nice presentation there LAF and happy birthday.
Dam shame, a classic!
It thinks it’s so beautiful. Posing for the camera.
I generally pick up a hard boiled egg from the hotel breakfast to have as a mid-morning snack, but quite often I forget to eat it.
I hate to waste food so got in the habit of leaving the uneaten eggs out by the carpark for the birds. Now I have this seagull waiting for me every day on the street light.
I now have to remember an extra egg every day as I feel obliged to give him one, seeing as he's been sitting there waiting. I've started picking up a bread roll as well.
Here he is swallowing half a hard boiled egg in one go.
And today he was joined by a magpie.
^The word's out...
Two eggs just ain't enough... I'll be filling me pockets tomorrow.
