^ some great shots Looper. Do you get blasé about seeing wallabies and other wildlife. I never do, i always find seeing and interacting with them a real wonder, one of life's genuine pleasures when surrounded by banal human bollix in the media.

^Thankfully I cannot see any manic jibbering humans from my house Mike, only God's blessed mute creations.

These Gordon Bennetts Wallabies are a new arrival and have nice markings on their face and paws.

Not as awe-inspiring as the photos in this thread...

Post a photo you took yourself-ant-jpg

This is my current project - digging a cable trench in my back lawn to where I will erect a new ham radio antenna, 18 metres in height. (I plan to have the biggest erection in Laos...)

The feed cable needs to be laid in plastic pipe underground, to minimise electrical noise pick-up, erosion by the elements, and digestion by mice etc.

The 18 metre telescopic, fibreglass pole that will support my massive erection was dispatched at the beginning of August from Germany by slow boat. I'm used to lengthy postal delays, and hope that it will arrive by Xmas, unless it has been 'kidnapped' on the way, and is now holding up runner beans in some garden in Bangkok suburbs...

Yes, it's a challenge! I live alone, so there's no-one to help with this erection. I can tell you from experience that when trying to get it erect, I have to hold on really firmly. I could do with some more hands to hold it tight...

A few weeks ago, I was on the roof of my house, and my erection collapsed!! Now I've had to tie ropes to it to keep it erect...

If I had the money, I'd use a motorised, hands-free erection device. But right now, I need to manually handle it, with a lot of elbow grease!

I have two Spider poles waiting for me to set up my half wave end fed. Coax is now coming through the wall instead of the window and my HF vertical will shortly be the subject of investigation by my MFJ analyser and my recent purchase , NanoVNA_F. When I know the SWR is safe I can press the PTT button on my shiny new ICOM 7300 . Bought the Anytone AT-878UVII Plus and a DVMEGA Euronode hotspot. Waiting for my friend to set up the hotspot as he is an electronics engineer and I am thick.

Few here will understand what I have written but that is par for the course. Most know "four fifths of fuck all" about anything. Just saying, innit ?

Those Nano VNAs are very useful, but beware that the screen cracks quite easily, which then fcuks up the touchscreen pointer gizzo, and you have to use the manual buttons, (which actually is much easier than the pointer!). Here in Laos, I'm down to rigs of questionable age (Icom IC-735 and 718), being that it's hard to import any gear. The 735 has blown PA trannies,so I just use it for receiving. The rig PSUs blew up a long time ago and I now run all my kit off a car battery - which actually works OK

I can buy a shiny new Icom 7300 in Bangkok, but.. er ... I can't get to Bangers with the lockdowns etc!

Update - message to forum members. Please don't excited by my reference to 'blown trannies'. It doesn't mean what you think!!

Is there a story, leaving before the neighbours wake up or something?
