You coming to Songkhla?
that it is. we did the trek up to Phraya Nakhon cave. Luckily got there early as the boat from Bang Pu beach to Hat Laem Sala wasn't running as it was too choppy, trouble is we had a 5 and 6 YO in tow so we had to walk up and over to Laem sala and do the full walk along the beach up to the cave. The littluns did it and to my amazement with nearly no whinging. The pic is looking back across to the first hill the way we came.
The other reason for getting there early is the sun hitting the shrine and aside from a group of three luk khrueng girls we had the place to ourselves. It was nice walking down feeling smug as people laboured past us on the way up, all red and sweaty. A group of older Koreans sacked it after the first hill.
well worth the trip.
^^ Nice pic, Mike.
Ordinarily I am not a fan of shrines/religious stuff in caves but that one seems to add something rather than subtract.
I like a walk or trek myself but it can be tough at times in Thailand with the heat and humidity. Good call on going early. The slightly less hot and humid December weather would help, too.
Was still a challenge and made me realise my knees are getting older.
A word of caution for anyone going to do it. Don't attempt it when it is wet or been raining heavily, the climb down into the cave is a bit treacherous with mud and polished stones - one unfortunate older Thai lady slipped and hurt her back but not too seriously. If you do yourself some serious damage its a long way back and i suspect you'll need to call on the services of the National Park Rangers.
Was thinking the same.
There was some tosser that was chased by a wild elephant round there 13+ years ago.

^Beautiful!
Took a walk last night to see the effects of the huge snowfall we had. Was heavy snow on all the trees.
Had it on for background.
Argentina must be enjoying the game.
