Actually , that was not a very flattering picture of me, I looked like I was sucking at a lemon. So I decided to faint modesty and pixelate my face , but while on "Paint" I saw all these cool stickers and could not help myself........

This is the end, my friend.

It deserves a second chance. Engraved and painted with your house number or something more imaginative.

Could turn them into a couple of shelves.

One for baked beans and one for your pre-workout powder

Drill a couple of holes in one, put some string through it and hang it round the neck of Ms Mbudga(she may fight a little thinking its a tyre) and you'll have somewhere to rest your pint and your 500 baht

Nice. We had the moonrise here about the same time as the eclipse. By the time I could see it over the hills the eclipse was already down to about 75%. Interesting nonetheless.

I think this might be the Checkered keelback (Fowlea piscator) or Asiatic water snake (Xenochrophis piscator). (In Thai: งูลายสอใหญ่, ngu lai sor yai).
There are many pictures on the web with quite different looking colourations. I am relying on the black stripes, one above and one below each eye for identification.
    Any better suggestions are welcome.

^ Yeah, a chequered keelback Shutree.

Or, as you say, also known as the Asiatic water snake

We get quite a lot, probably because of the pond.

    What happened to yours?

The Yellow-spotted keelback is very similar. I'm not certain. There are so many variations in the colours and not all the web sources are accurate.
It wasn't just posing helpfully. It looked like a tyre had crushed the tip of the tail and there was another splash of blood nearby, the CSI team will have to visit the scene.
Since the lane was concreted I often see squashed snakes on the early morning walk. Mostly the yellow-bellied Rice paddy snake and small kukris. Also various frogs, toads and scorpions. Quite a battleground.
There seem to be more snakes around at the moment. This week Ive had a Golden tree snake up a teak tree in the garden and a bronzeback under the gas canister in the outside kitchen. That one drove the dog mental.

Coincidentally enough, I was on a Teams meeting this afternoon when I suddenly heard Yogi going mental with his 'snake bark'. A few second later this was joined by the wife's 'snake scream'. I just had to go down to investigate... the wife's snake scream is particularly loud and piercing.

I would imagine this is the first time someone has left a Norwegian meeting due to a snake.

Anyway, Yogi had sadly nailed a lovely rat snake. I had to euthanise it, which I hate doing but I think is the kindest thing to do.

Snake distraction… that’s certainly one that they would not be used to in Norway.
