I think the biggest challenge has been not letting the days all blend together. So Friday my wife and I always go out to dinner and I do not turn on my work computer until Monday Morning. This way I enjoy a weekend if you will. It takes strong discipline to work where you live. I know quite a few during this pandemic that haven't faired to well working remotely.

Interesting now is companies are giving employees the option to work at home if they are willing to take a 10 to 20% pay cut.

I'm so happy to be back home.

I look better in the mirror, it's all relative.

I hope I'll feel the same after my visit to Immigration tomorrow.

And that one or two fellow posters whose input I generally appreciate will give it a fucking rest on this otherwise valuable thread.

You enjoy doing otherwise repetitive and dull tasks again and again ... in different rooms?

Ya know Cy, when I was first retired it got like that for me. I had no idea what day it was. At first it was great but later it created some issues as you head off somewhere not thinking what day it is and you get there and they are closed. You look at the day and go "Shit Man, it's Sunday"

Been like that for 6-12 months now.

Since the kid stopped going to school and is in the house all day everyday, sitting at the same study table, every day, same teachers with the same voices, every day, for hour after hour, every day, it's like something out of a fookin' Stephen King book. Lucky to know what month it is, never mind the day.

I don't work from home, but I live just 15mins from the base/yard. Nobody else in our department can get there without a flight, accommodation, driver etc so I'm basically working full time. Completely normal for most people but a proper shock to the system for me. I'm used to not working when I'm home so I have created and become involved with businesses, hobbies, clubs, charities, projects and activities to make use of my free time. Now I'm working I just don't have the time for it all.

Anyway, the entrepreneur in me will never sleep and this time next year I'll be a billionaire with all the free time in the world.

2 restaurants we often get food from are closed on Mondays.

You might be able to hear the cry of 'Fucking Mondays!' in Lampang as we drive home to order Food Panda.

I thought I was smart to break up the monotony of this one and changed his school.

Now he has a mountain of books and classwork to catch up on in his own time along with all the online classes.

    School Talk:

In the long run though, it was to get him out of the International schedule of 3 months on 1 month off. It het its pros but there was the problem that he would be on school holidays when all the other schools are still going. That meant no activities would be running such as football camp, music school, activities or even other kids to play with. So He's just came late into pratanom 1 with loads to catch up on, and he's maybe a bit young for it too, but he has the advantage of already being fluent in english and the good, small class education he's had until now. He's 6 in November. The school is new, bigger, better equipped and a lot cheaper, which would have had to happen anyway when my 2 year old is ready for the leap.

So I'm overall happy about that.

So many things to do around the house and another project on a plot of land keeps me out of trouble and relatively happy.

I would go crazy if I had nothing to do.

At least I still get trips to Udon, and guaranteed night shift.
I don't know how ppl do it either. There's a neighbor I worked with in 2006. He was driving that delivery truck in 2006 and I see him chugging around in the same piece of shit today in 2021. How he gets the energy to do the same thing day after day I'll never know. I just cannot fall into a routine and do a regular job like that. I'm ready for the rope after 5-6 years of my current work.

Back to the OP, Life as usual for me, except for putting the face diaper on at 7/11 or markets and shopping malls. Itching to get around and tour again though.

According to some info, it was based on the company was paying expense items or stipends for commute, phone and other perks. Most will cut them out.

What kind of monthly expenses do you have over there ? Just curious because I am jealous and aspire to live the dream one day.

I think i got covid. headache fatigued af, sore throat. The only reason i mention it is because ive never had insomnia quite like this. Over the last 3 nights, I cant say ive got more than an hour or 2 of sleep each night. This is with using helpers.

    did anyone have insomnia ?
