where you hitchhiking?
An interesting thread, offering the possibility of even more interesting challenges.
The road building game demonstrates a certain level of insularity against a global economic reach.
Is it possible to do the same for rail and bus services, especially with the enforced decline in air travel?
I've motorcycled route 13 in Laos top to bottom, china to Cambodia , but its pretty small compared to the others. Amazing scenery, as well as mind numbing nothingness. I'd do it again.
Mukdahan to Mae Sot #12 is a long stretch, never made the cut I guess
Interesting that the general trends run largely east to west, and north to south, probably with some concessions to topography and national borders
Only Afghanistan bucking the trend with a circular route.
The longest "road",
"a wide way leading from one place to another, especially one with a specially prepared surface which vehicles can use.",
in Asia is:
"The Trans-Siberian Highway is the unofficial name for a network of federal highways that span the width of Russia from the Baltic Sea of the Atlantic Ocean to the Sea of Japan. In the Asian Highway Network, the route is known as AH6. It stretches over 11,000 kilometres (6,800 mi) from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok."

No, I haven't driven on it, taken pictures of it, cooked any delicious suppers on it, left any children on it, paid any police on it or made a TV series proving a military survival team carried me on it.
My longest single Thai road trips were from; Trat to Phuket 1,062 km (visiting friends), Trat to Manmar border 700 km (visiting friends) and Trat to Second Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge, Mukdahan (visa renewal) 700 km.

A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
