I haven't seen it myself, but apparently Dubai do this at night with drones. Except the video shows....

They spray our village fairly often. Different people. One looking for votes and the gov do it every time we get a new covid case in the village.

I hope I don't spread fear amongst the Thais, but...

Niece's girlfriend failed a Covid self-test and both wanted to get a proper test at the local hospital. However, because neither show symptoms, they were refused a free test. Instead, they had to go to a private hospital and pay Bt3000 each for a test.

You won't get anywhere near correct numbers infected if you have to pay for the test or only include those infected.

Worse, many who show no signs of infection, won't bother testing and will spread the virus quite happily infecting others.

Anyway, their big sister paid for the tests and should get the results tomorrow. The reason for checking was because an employee at wor had gone sick.

    Oh dear.
Perhaps a micro-reflection of the bigger picture being missed.

...and it continues to spread [worldwide] as a top percentage have stopped practicing basic health protocol measures.
The base reason as to the wave of surges.

Boy oh boy the covid in Thailand is now getting firmly entrenched in the middle and upper classes. Of all my wife's insurance clients only 1 had gotten covid in the last year. Yesterday 2, and today 3. Not families but individuals with big policies. They said the hospitals are so full you are having to pay for 14 nights upfront to even get in the door. 130,000 baht for BKK hospital and starting at 140,000 for Samitiwej. This is for a standard room only. You must use your credit card and a special QR code to even get a future reservation, hopefully 2 or 3 day wait.

People are going up country to their family homes from BKK now where they can be treated. Would not want to be on that bus....

It is an absolute crime what is happening.

As I mentioned earlier both missus and I recieved notification to show up Friday at Ampur hospital. Off we went at 9AM. Got there and 400 people were queued.

Sat around, stood around until 11:30 when staff show up to look at ID cards and give us a 3 page set of questions and instructiona. Filled it and they moved us to another queue where they took blood pressure and pulse.

2 hrs more. Looking ok so moved to another queue where we noticed people walking out of the vaccination area. Wife asked a person if it hurt and she said no. She was told no more vaccines available. Not one word was said to us and others waiting to go home.

By now I am in a major wtf mood so talked to a doctor. She said sorry and said they were required by the gov to schedule 400 people a day even though they normaly got only 100 doses a week.

This must be the norm thoughout the country so, this is going to get far, far worse. 18 to 24 months before we get anywhere near pre covid norms. She noticed on my form I was to get AZ jab. Told me they never get AZ.

Asked the doc why the inside of the hospital was closed with no one allowed entry. Answer, they took in a bunch of covid cases from Bangkok for care. All rooms full.

So I asked, what now and she said we have to reschedule. I smiled and told her not gonna happen. She smiled back and said I don't blame you.

So it's plan B. Off to the US of A with the possibilty of a very long stay sans my lady.

Gee Norts, it's come to that has it?
    Empathies extended.

    Unfortunate situation.
Hope you folks can get all this worked out without resorting to Plan B.
Though, quite understanding that's the reality.

    Best to ya.

I thought air, train and bus travel to N and NE had been suspended until next week with a probable extension. Returning to the provinces will just increase the spread with little improvement in health care.
Thailand needed to contain and vaccinate. They have now failed on both counts.
I won't be going back this year and may stop the wife as well if things don't improve by October.

I'm hoping/expecting to fly out of BKK to Europe in around three weeks time. This will mean getting from Korat to Bangkok for the flight... I'll be using a driver to get to Swampy. I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on whether this could become impossible the way things are going? There's no crystal balls if course but I feel that things will get a lot worse before there's any improvement.

Mate flew into SF from BKK. Got the J&J vaccine in the airport via walk-in.

    The trouble is getting back
