Is there really great secrecy about these things? Many regular posters have disclosed which town they live in. Does it matter, anyway?

Actually I have a couple of fine sons (adopted) who I maintain good relationships with.

Yes I'm single now. I found for me that after five years I simply got tired of my companions and completely lost sexual interest.

    Thanks for asking.

The Muskogee thing was always a joke which you were probably always to straight to get.

Is it true that your a British tax dodger Cy? That's the word on the street.

And once that's gone, what's the point.

    Thanks for asking.

Doesn't matter at all. It's just interesting. If one is not comfortable disclosing then no pressure whatsoever. It's all good sir.

Surely a retired English teacher would know that. Or is Armstrong correct in saying that forums do not count? Teachers need a break from all that hard work speeling and riting korrectly is so tiring/.?

    Interesting fact.
I had a Phycology professor who claimed that the word was derived from the term Anal retentive, or Ass Hold .
which is certainly a trait of every monumental asshole .

Shit we were neighbors. I was born and raised Californian. Old School Italian/Sicilian family heritage. I used to go see my Uncle/Aunts and play in the Apple/Cherry/Walnut orchards which is now DeAnza college and Apple computer. Most the old Sicilians sold out and made a bundle but still live in the area.

I run a small antique shop in New York. I was born in a small Scottish village called Glenfinnan on the banks of Loch Shiel.

    Oh, and I am immortal.

My cousins in Cupertino used to live in an area surrounded by apricot and plum orchards. They're all gone now, replaced by parking lots and tech companies!

Yep that area was once rich in orchards and farming. I have some old pictures of me cruising around on the tractor with my GPa in the walnut orchards. Were rows as far as the eye could see. Beautiful trees. Then cross over the railroad tracks by Sunnyvale/Saratoga road and we would load up on peaches and my Aunt would make cobblers. The good ol days. My Grandfather from my Mom side was one of the contractors in the DeAnza college project.

Born in Grimsby (it's a shit and depressing as it sounds), moved to Norfolk (somewhat tolerable if you avoid the hooray Henry set), I now currently call Ulaanbaatar home.

I view forums such as this as a means of gaining knowledge, information and insight through the sharing of experiences both good and bad. Where an individual poster is from and their background is immaterial to me at least, same as if you were meeting them in person. A positive attitude, not taking themselves too seriously, and a liberal sprinkling of humour counts for me. In a previous part of my life, we had an expression "if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined", which could serve as a warning for any newcomer to Teakdoor.
