Thread: Thailand Is Best?

So far we have 3 people that actually live here and are retired here, So we understand why ^ you guys cant vote, sofar it is overwhelmingly positive for Thailand as the best place to retire in from our experiences.

Sofar, switch is the only expat that finds living in Thailand as crap. ^ ^^ these guys that don't live here shouldn't sway any of you new guys decisions.

Not everyone that lives in Thailand are retired.

Wondering how many falangs are living here? (100,000, 300,000, 500,000?)
And why? Even if they complain like a hell...
Comparing the numbers with other similar countries around?

I think it's a great place to live.

In a few decades time when in my 60's I'll probably move on. Personally I don't see it getting any better in the coming decades, especially for Westerners, while other places will.

If I was 60 now, it would be one place I'd consider. As well as Vietnam, Spain, and South America.

The major downfall of retirement in Thailand for me is medical insurance, and why I don't think it will work out for me long term. If I was allowed to buy into the Thai medical system it might be more of an option for me, but as it is I realize that the time will come soon that I will be uninsurable, since private insurance here will not cover preexisting conditions, and at a certain age , pretty much everything is a preexisting condition. And many insurances will not cover you after a certain age regardless .

Actually, that is not impossible once you are not over 70.
