No telescope required for tonight's celestial smorgasbord.
Venus the Goddess of beauty shining like a crown jewel at its orbital zenith with Mars the God of war heading to the horizon below.
Miss Lusty Luzon was bewitched (and almost blinded) by the full moon rising over the forest through binoculars
She then had her flabber gasted by the spectacle of Saturn, with its ovular ring profile just visible through the binoculars
Press the glasses firmly against the fence post, then focus, then close one eye for the sharpest binocular detail.
Saturn was closely followed by a dazzling Jupiter not far from opposition with its orange hue clearly visible and 2 moons sparkling in its halo (I don't know why Jupiter always seems to have a halo, maybe terrestrial atmospheric light scattering, but then why only Jupiter and not Venus?)
nice one, bet there was a full moon showing later...
Propriety forbids me from mentioning which outer planet we explored in Jeff Bezos's rocket later on but she was looking a bit flogged this morning so I took her on safari to recuperate
And she let me drive her car. Mazda really hit the styling sweet spot with their 2013 editions (the 2019 updates were less impressive).
Although I must confess I found visibility a tad restricted through the sleek and stylish low profile windows. The reversing camera helps - a novelty for me - but I still cannot get used to trusting a reverse camera and I have to keep twisting my neck to make sure.
