^ Aren't they called chocolate drops nowadays?

I guess that name is a discriminatory term these days.

It's always amusing to watch hardened Teakdoor posters whine about discrimination.

Go back to your fucking nanny state losers.

    Possibly.

Though I thought 'chocolate drops' is the term for a German sexual act.

I recall reading recently of a LGBT group (including some well known actors) demanding that only gay actors should play gay roles. Only today reading about a remake of "Friends" which apparently will be aired this week, being criticised for its lack of ethnic diversity.

There is hardly a new series currently on TV that does not have a black lead, even those period productions where having such characters borders on the ridiculous.

I don't watch much Brit tv, but if you believe that's true then you must watch even less.

Thing is though, none of the white blokes can drive, cook, or do anything well.

They always need help from an empowered woman, who seems to be able to turn her hand to just about anything.

It's as bad as the most cliched crap from the seventies, with the roles reversed.

As for race, mixed seems to be the way to go. They're just trying to target as many people as possible and that's what adverts are supposed to do.

Compared to real life stuff it doesn't matter much, right?

Just makes business sense . . . look at a lot of Asian ads, quite a few Eurasians in them so they can use the same ads in many countries. Logic, innit.

Luckily the survival of Caucasians doesn't rest on their appearance in advertisement . . . or does it???

To be fair, I am not certain that's the logic they use for the inclusions of Euro's in their adds.

Euros or Eurasians? When we were living in Malaysia our youngest had quite a few 'jobs' in ads because of her Pan-Asian looks

    Smeg's Version: He posted a thread on TC about how all lawyers are sociopaths and how he'd single-handedly defeated a high-powered and expensive lawyer using his superior intelligimence whilst on a break from his wildcat life of jet-setting retirement;

The Reality: *Hold My Beer*... turns out he was offered a low-paying temp office job; had the offer revoked because his references were shit; and that's where it ended...

...Haha just kidding, because it's Smeg he then sued for racial discrimination at the Employment Tribunal...and lost.

Impossible, Smegs retired and in Thailand. His apartment has views over the Andaman sea and he plays tennis in the mornings.
Why would he be applying for low paid jobs?
You must be thinking of someone else.

    That's a good point actually.

Maybe after a life of wildcatting and then jetset luxury with Vanessa he just wanted to see how the little people lived for a bit? Research for a book / thesis on the poor maybe?

What is amazing, however, is that it only costs 62 pounds to get from there to the University in the UK

You can get some good deals if you travel off-peak, but that does appear to be stretching it.

He did get there on the strength of his cv . . . until he had to verify his claims. Hmm . . .
