I agree to a certain extent. The social contract was given by her without request . . . it was passively accepted but unless it was finalised there's nothing stopping Prag's wife taking the route that Tax suggested.
Otherwise: Woman cries foul in public. Apologises in private. Public, other teachers and principal still think of children as thieves.
Well one thing is obvious Prag, your daughters should never again run an errand for any teacher where it exposes them to any form of suspicion.
EDIT
and that would be in my letter to the head if they start to get gossip spreading around.
just behead her pet dog and pour acid over the bonnet of her honda jazz.
...... you know you want to !
Don't forget about it, but don't do anything now. Wait for an opportunity to exact some form of cold revenge. Never forget, never forgive.
Rumours are always a problem and if they do start circulating at the school then you will need to act, but I wouldn't do so at this stage. As others have said, you may make matters worse unless you are very tactful in your approach. A public apology requires a school assembly and an announcement by the Head teacher and teacher involved. It will add considerably more stress for all concerned and should be used only as a last resort.
I let my wife deal with all the daily problems at school. If something requires my attention, I invite the headmaster round to dinner and have a quiet word in his ear. Of course, making small donations to the school has helped obtain that communication channel.
I would personally let it go. It will be tomorrow's fish and chip paper.
but...
If you want to press forward, then I would make the school post on their official Facebook something like this...
Due to a member of staff making a serious and falsetheft accusation against a student, the school has now implemented the following rules with immediate effect.
(1) All members of staff will not allow students in the staffroom unsupervised.
(2) Accusations of any illegal activity will be dealt with using the appropriate authorities.
(3) blah blah blah
(4) ...and so on
No names mentioned, but we all know who is being talked about.
Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
On the plus side your kids could nick that iPad now and it'd take some massive balls for the teacher to accuse your kids again.
