What movie(s) Frightened You the Most?

...definitely the Exorcist as I still had vague notions of Sky Gods/Demons then...
...Jaws was second...I was living in Jamaica at the time and used to enjoy the beaches around Port Antonio...

    'A Nightmare on Elm Street'

Saw it as a kid, dunno maybe 10 years old, and it scared the bejesus out of me. Still remember tipping backwards out of my chair over a jump-scare.

    The Blair Witch Project

I've spent hundreds of nights in a tent in the deep forest and could totally relate to the scenes where they awaken to noises outside their tent. In my case it was probably bears or wolves, which may or may not be worse than witches.

"Target Earth" (1954). First movie I ever saw in a theater - scared the crap out of me.

I remember trembling on the sofa feeling sick watching Jaws, and my mother saying we don't have to watch it if I don't want to (had older friends growing up, so wanted to be the same as them)

We were disappointed watching that. Media reports were of people throwing up in cinemas.

Must have a been a dodgy batch of popcorn.

As a little kid it was The Wizard of Oz. I was very frightened by the witches.

    As a kid:
    The Exorcist
    Nightmare on Elm Street

Though didn't stop me watching them five times each before the video cassette had to be returned at the end of the weekend.

A very true observation I read recently: Watching a horror drunk turns it into a comedy.

Macbeth (1948) springs to mind. I think it was around 1970 when it was on the TV.

Come and See. A Russian film about the Nazis rolling through Belarus. It wasn't meant to be a horror film but it is getting credit as one.

    The Blob

As a kid, I found it quite disturbing. Especially the cinema scene. Now i find it quite humorous.

    Weeping Angels.

An episode of 'Sapphire & Steel' too, one with a faceless man.

    Yesterday, upon the stair,
    I met a man who wasn’t there.
    He wasn’t there again today.
    I wish, I wish… he’d go away.

    ^^

I remember being disturbed by a Sapphire & Steel story. Think it was something to do with ghosts at a railway station.

Pussies compared to the Weeping Angels!

And at least you could hear the noisy fuckers coming a mile away.

The angels only move when you're not looking.

I only remember crapping my daks over the Faceless Man one and vaguely being unsettled by another with creepy kids singing Ring Around The Rosie.

Actually, the cybermen. Not sure why, they were just relentless and those eyes, used to have nightmares about them.

Modern day film wise if you can call it that was Evil Dead, the film itself wasn't too bad but the walk / run home from my mate's parents house down a load of unlit alleys put the proper willies up me. I confesses to legging it.
