That'd be a very small fishpond, LT . . . two bathtubs in size.

Still, what the lady wants . . .

Got to keep the boss happy PH.

And another delay in posting pics as not all of the roofing material arrived.

Maybe today with the lighting and ceiling fans in place.

    ^^ Cheers mate.

There is still a lot of finishing off to do with 180 square metres of tiles to lay.

When I first arrived in Korat, in my naivety I thought a poolside bar would be a great social area and be a great mancave... until I discovered the type of place Korat is. There ain't a lot of point in having a poolside bar to sit in alone.

The treadmill arrived today completing my mancave conversion to a gym/exercising/sitting with the dogs area. This isn't only for me... I could do with losing a few more pounds admittedly but I very much want to get the daughter into a regular exercise routine, especially with the lockdowns and school closures that may go on for a while yet limiting her social interactions. I appreciate that I'm up against it with the plethora of superb online, interactive games available but I think so long as there's a nice environment for her to spend dome time in, I'm in with a chance. It also provides a refuge from the constant cacophony of screeching Thai soaps and 'comedy' shows in the house, and we're close enough to get the Wifi so the daughter can watch stuff while exercising and I can watch the cricket on me phone with lunch! (thanks again for that link, David221TD)

The amazing thing is that I have any body fat left on me at all. Although to be fair, after setting up the wiring I'm still in the 'looking at the treadmill' stage.

    Tomorrow it all starts...

The treadmill will likely put you off running for life, Mendles. HAve a look at the Nordic Track incline trainers and all the associated software, and swap them. Ypu can afford it, you've just been offshore for a year

I can strongly recommend the Wahoo Kickr Bike and Zwift software for addictive cycling.

Ok, so I'm still configuring the setup to suit me best, so I started on FTP 170 but the system has already bumped me up to 181.

I've officially done 67km and 599m elevation so far, but I had a 32km cycle that didn't record due to a connectivity issue, although I was able to load the log file onto strava and garmin. I was pretty pissed off about that.

Max Power is 509 and not sure where to fine the 1 minute power.

The gearing is not right though, my last cycle i was in 11th gear the whole way, and not enough resistance on the downhills.

    Ironing out the creases.

Soon as I'm happy with it I'll do the ramp test.

Keep powering out the Zone 2 base miles and add some VO2 max intervals - you will pick those numbers up quickly. On minute power you just test yourself, it's a good barometer of anaerobic fitness.

I've been using it for years - FTP currently 362watts, 1 minute power - 600watts, Max - 1400watts. I did 402 watts for 14 minutes this year which I was very happy with.

If you haven't done a Ramp Test yet, then those figures are about 50 watts short, I'd say, minimum.

Ya know Mendy, Why watch your sports on your phone? Set up a nice 48" internet ready TV and BAM....you are set. I never set up my pool to be a social center piece, Thai folks do not party like us westerners anyway and I knew going in I wasn't going to meet bunch of guys here that I could get on with. The pool was all for me to rest and relax and being most Thais are afraid of water they steer clear of the entire area when visiting. The entire left side of the house is my man cave. Works out perfect.

Now time for you to get crackin on using your gym equipment. I have been at it now for about 45 days since I added my treadmill. Clock off 30 to 40 minutes on mine then weights ( I also have a free bar downstairs I use every day)

I moved the equipment upstairs to our Sala area. I have wireless BT speaker system link to the TV and can listen to NBA, NFL, MLB while I work out then head down after to relax and watch the rest of the game.

I always keep a properly stocked fridge with all the nutritional beverages one needs to cool off after a hard work out keeping in mind that I am not exercising to become some yolked guy. Its for some cardio, muscle tone, retain mobility and keep a stable weight and OH Yeah and have a few beers..

Then some private pool time with the game on.

But that pool looks dirty, the table is the wrong size, and the bar is stacked with toys in a corner, probably too small, and those are rubbish brands of beer.

    how did I do?
