Thanks for all the supportive comments.

The storm has hit hard and the 8m x 5m £16 tarpaulin has caved in under the rain pressure.

    I'm soaked through, fvck it.

I just hope the plywood floor and walls don't turn to sponge.

    We'll see what Tomorrow brings.
    Shalom

It's a David Vs Goliath battle.

All I want to do is build a safe space for the kids and their friends. Not have them on the mean streets and able to keep an eye on them.

Fvcking rain is gonna turn all my hard work to mush..

Fuck it I'm gonna take a leaf out of my dogs book and sleep.

The roof can take my weight, although it does creak a bit.

Put loads my strengthening noggins in today and nearly finished the roof boards when it decided to rain again.

I'm in the process of designing and ordering my Man Cave that will double as a teenagers hangout.

I'd rather the kids be where I can keep an eye on them then God knows where.

A mate converted his double garage and that was perfect for a few years.

I intend to put a gym, pool/table tennis table, fridge, sofas, posters, punch bags ,sound system in mine.

Some fantastic Man Caves out there...

We used to play under the house.

Did get a bit confusing as we grew up when mom & dad got a dog though.

Joe what is the budget, current cost and expected overall cost for your build? If you don’t mind me asking.

Im just curious of the comparison compared to the prefab ones you posted between 2-4k.

I saw this one just popped up on Lazada.

If I understand you correctly They are not needed.

E.G. a plywood plate will function as one big cross... if screwed properly

Hi Dirk, so far I've spent about £700. I reckon the overall cost will come in at about a grand due to my new source of cheap timber(pallets).

I would happily have bought one ready made but the lead times are ridiculous at the moment in the UK.

    A 6-8month wait!

I wanted it done before the Summer holidays and I have the spare time at the moment so got stuck in.

YouTube videos have been a great source of information and an education to me.

Loads of strengthening noggins and struts gone in recently.

Need to pull my finger out and put in a few 8 hour days to complete it.

The plan is to have three layers of timber in the structure, inside outside and plywood middle.

4 inches of wood should do the trick with a breathable membrane naturally

Nah - 3.99 for gut rot brandy will keep the cold out.

That and fingerless mittens to facilitate TD C+Ps.

Of course September onwards will be a different story.
