^lol, I'm pretty sure he didn't.
For some girls, they use the term "bakla" to each other as a sign of closeness or endearment. I had a friend / colleague who was spoke like that. Among our "gang" at work, she would call us, "hoy mga bakla" meaning "hey you gays!"
Nowadays, some people use "bes/ besh/ beshie", derived from best friend.
Your wife's use of the word bakla is just normal "girl gang" speak. Kinda like using bro, mate/ matey.
Edit:
Out of current topic, but still re: modern family. I've recently watched clips of Mrs Doubtfire on YT. When Mrs D's disguise was discovered by his kids, they asked, "who did this to you?"
He answered, "Uncle Frank & Aunt Jack". That passed right by me before, when I was young! I didn't realize that Uncle Frank was in a relationship with Jack. I thought they were just friends or housemates!

Hi tc,
I generally go by 'she' or 'her' (Ms.) .I also agree with respecting whatever any one person wants to be called. If you are transgender and want to be referred to as 'they' rather than he or she, then that is what I will call you. It is a matter of respecting what a person wants to be called and addressed as.
Please, god, no. David. Do not encourage that kind of thing. I don't have enough eye bleach.
well this place just gets weirderer
