^ I think (!!!!) there is a duty free window for a returning Thai on household goods. But OP should check it out.

The boxes are sharing a Container with other Thais who are shipping from FL , and it is under the one time , duty free, repatriation for my wife.
It is actually a pretty ingenuine business Idea for them. A 20 ft container for only one person costs about $4.000 , but at $140 a box , I will pay them close to $1,000 and I will not even take one tenth of a container. But many people don't need a container and don't care how long it takes to get there.
If they can fill a container with boxes from people like us, instead of $4.000 they can get $10,000 out of it.
Come to think of it, they might even be stuffing my boxes into someone else's container that is not completely full.
Anyway, i don't care how it gets there as long as it does , and I don't have to deal with it.
By the way, $140 a box, it's delivered to my home in Khan Kaen. $260 for my petrol self propelled electric start, push lawn mower,. I am thinking about it.

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
Funny in a way, if you did not care about time 35-40 years ago you shipped by sea mail. Six to eight weeks door to door and no bullshit about customs and the such. Times of need old fangled practices come into play again.
We have our own house in Thailand and all the things we need, we could go there with nothing and we would be fine. But we are planning to stay there for at least two years, and I am renting the house in FL, to my neighbor. It would be nice to have someone I trust taking care of the house, and the income would be a bonus. After two years we will see how we like it in Thailand long term. If we do , we might sell the house, if not we got a place in the US to return to it.
Tomorrow they meet in Thailand to decide on the quarantine thing. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I shipped stuff from BKK to where we live in the Philippines and it took a good three months. I would guess double that from the US to BKK. My wife is a Filipina so no import/customs fees were assessed.
I monitor Amazon "deal of the day items"
So far I got four 120-240v smart wi-fi plugs for $23 and a waterproof outdoor Wi-Fi outlet ($29) for my coy pond, so I can turn on and off the filter and water fountain from anywhere in the world via my smart phone,
I know I can buy these things on Lazada, but the price was right.
Yea . they said it will take two months. but I don't care, If Greece has opened up in the next month or so, (looks unlikely now) we will stop there for a month, before we come to Thailand anyway,
if not. nothing in the boxes we cant live without for a couple of months.
We will burn up the first month , with traveling there, quarantine and getting settled in anyway. We have been away for over a year now.
I'm one of those blokes who usually cannot find shoes in Asia (48 EU, 13US, 12 1/2 UK). I don't even bother about brand or style if I find my size in Asia. I'm just fucking happy when shoes fit.
Looks helpful for you:
On the issue of quarantine duration, Dr Taweesilp said, from April 1 to Sept 30, arrivals without a vaccination certificate (VC) and Covid-19 free certificate (CFC) would be quarantined for 10 days, and be tested for the disease twice.
Arrivals with VCs and CFCs would be quarantined for seven days and tested once. Those with VCs but without CFCs would be tested twice.
Quarantine to be eased from April 1
^ I’m also seeing that you don’t need the “fit to fly” certificate, just a negative PCR test.
This is the bit that worries me a bit..
Phase 3 - from 1 Oct - the government is aiming to allow vaccinated tourists from low risk countries to enter Thailand without the need to quarantine. However, this will depend on the COVID-19 situation in Thailand and whether or not sufficient numbers of medical workers in the country have received the vaccination.
Low risk countries? UK, USA?
Sufficient medical workers have received the vaccination. Thailand has yet to start any inoculation at all.
Depends what you term low risk. By Oct its likely that most of the UK will have been vaccinated and a significant proportion having had the two doses, whereas at current rates many other so called developed countries will still be getting first doses out.
I agree however that they should stop making statements months ahead of time with such a fluid situation, but that's never stopped the Thai politician.
I had to google them with 'Thailand' in the search to find them.
