It’s about Covid, and all recognized nations accepting a Covid passport.

It means, quite literally between nations. As Covid is a global pandemic, international, in this case requires all nations to be accept the provenance of the certificate.

For one nation (Thailand) to describe something as international, is dishonest and invalid. For further information, see the Thai court definition of the legality of double pricing, in this case, in the Thai health services.

Got my second AStra Zenica shot yesterday. Felt a bit rough for the rest of the day, and now all I have to do for my immunity is catch actual COVID.

Though I think I will get a Pfizer booster before going O/S to catch it from one of you diseased lot.

Had my 2nd AZ jab early this morning, so far no reaction.
Hundreds of people were queueing outside the facility almost an hour before opening time.
It appeared that the majority were seeking their first shot.

It was significantly less organised than at the time of my first visit, but not bad all considered

There were significantly more people queueing when I left the facility than when I arrived.

My guess is that it will still take sometime before all up here in the sticks have been vaccinated

Both me and my wife were Vaccinated with Pfizer last April before we left the US to come here, I read that after six months prelection from Covid declines significantly . This would be about now.
If that is the case, I am or will be soon in essence unvaccinated and at high risk.
Other than living the country , what are my options for a Booster shot?

I was glad my wife got her first real vaccine last weekend.

Astra Zeneca, after she'd got Sino a month ago.

You may want to read this, there is new preliminary data from Ontario that shows that you may be protected longer than six months depending on what vaccine you received and other factors.

Some pics from my vaccination stint. I had pre-registered for the vax at my office and at my town, and in my mind I said I'd get the jab from which one could give me sooner (and a brand I preferred). I got the text from my town and it was Pfizer, so I took the opportunity.

I was scheduled for 1 pm. By the time I arrived there, the line was long. I was classified under A4 (workers) and the gym was jam-packed. (A1 is health workers, A2 is seniors, A3 = people with comorbidities). I fell in line and got inside the gym after ~1 hour. Inside the gym, there's more waiting & processing, but there were chairs.

More pics from my vaccination in PH:

Checking of BP & temp + some questions
Who has received which Covid-19 vaccine-img_20211013_072017-jpg

Queue for the jab. The one on left is for 2nd dose (Sinopharm), on the right is for 1st dose - Pfizer.

After the jab, wait for 30 mins to monitor symptoms

After they check your BP again & you submit your paper, you can exit. There's a tarp where you can pose for pictures to put on your social media. Heh! (no I didn't post on FB or other social media)

Who has received which Covid-19 vaccine-img_20211013_071750-jpg

What's a bit surprising (and disappointing) is that after you give them your paper, the employees collect the paper and write your name & other data in a logbook. I'd have thought that since we've pre-registered, our data was online already and they'll just tick a box online via laptop. But no, it was still old school pen & paper (logbook!). I hope the data get encoded to a database by someone later on.

We also don't get a QR or RFID code after the jab. After the 2nd dose, you get a paper card. This card is valid for local travel & for eating in restos/ malls but not for international travel. For international travel, one must apply for the yellow ICV card at the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) or get it online from vaxcertph (which is not available yet for many regions outside of the capital, ugh).

All in all, it was an OK process. Just had a sore arm for 2 days and some weakness for 1 day.

Edit: my mom got vaxxed some months ago (Sinovac). During that time, most of the available vaccines were Sinovac & Sinopharm. Now there's more supply of Western brands. When I've had my 2nd jab, I'll apply for the yellow card (ICV) for both of us. I might get it from the BOQ Mall of Asia branch, so that I'll include a shopping side trip.

    Time for a booster?

Study finds 'mixing and matching' boosters safe, but Moderna, Pfizer are best

Broadly, people who received an mRNA-based booster vaccination had a four-fold increase in their neutralization response more frequently than those who were boosted with J&J's adenovirus vaccine.

A booster dose of Moderna's vaccine provided the highest boost of neutralizing antibodies in people who received any of the other vaccines as the primary dose.

In fact, people who received Moderna's vaccine as the prime dose had higher levels of neutralizing antibodies even prior to a booster — approximately three-fold higher than Pfizer and 10-fold higher than Johnson & Johnson.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

I had the seasonal 'flu vaccine this morning, worse reaction than any of the Pfizers.

Thumping headache and an overwhelming desire for a nap.
